Although this may be hard for some people to believe, Robert Sheehan began his professional acting journey nearly 20 years ago. His time in the entertainment industry hasn’t always been easy, but Robert has always managed to find ways to keep moving forward. That reliance has been a major asset to him throughout his career. Robert is probably best known for his roles in shows like Love/Hate and The Umbrella Academy. 1. He Was Born in Ireland
At this point, Robert has become such an international star that some people may not realize where he is originally from. He was born and raised in Ireland, and he is very proud of his roots. However, Ireland isn’t the only place he’s lived. He currently resides in London, but he has also lived in the United States (Los Angeles).
2. He Has Done Voice Work
Robert’s live-action work is what has gotten him the most attention over the years, but that isn’t the only way he likes to share his love for acting with the world. He has also been involved in a couple of voice projects, including an episode of the animated series Robot Chicken.
3. Robert Sheehan Plays Instruments
Acting isn’t the only area of the arts that Robert is interested in. When he was younger, he was also involved in the world of music. He learned how to play several instruments, including the banjo and the spoons. At one point in time, Robert was even part of a band.
4. He Is An Author
Storytelling is one of the most significant components of acting, and it’s something that Robert really enjoys. In 2021, he made his debut as an author with a collection of stories titled Disappearing Act: A Host of Other Characters in 16 Short Stories. It’s unclear if he plans to write more books in the future.
5. He Likes Spending Time Outside
Just because Robert has been part of the entertainment industry for almost two decades doesn’t mean he needs flashing lights and red carpets to have a good time. In fact, Robert is someone who really enjoys the simple things in life. One of those things is being outdoors and enjoying the beauty of nature.
6. Robert Sheehan Enjoys Traveling
In addition to having lived in different countries, Robert has also gotten the chance to travel a lot over the years for business and for pleasure. He has visited several countries, including Italy and New Zealand. There’s no doubt he’ll be adding more stamps to his passport in the coming years.

7. He Experimented with His Sexuality
Robert identifies as a heterosexual man, but there were moments in the past when he wasn’t so sure. When asked if he ever questioned his sexuality, Rober told Hot Press, “Yeah, of course, man. I think it would be irresponsible not to question it. I had a couple of experiences when I was younger with dudes where I tried it, experimented, to see if it did anything for me. And it didn’t.”
8. Robert Sheehan a Producer
Robert Sheehan has spent the majority of his time in the entertainment industry doing work in front of the camera. However, he has also developed an interest in telling stories from behind the scenes. In 2016, he made his debut as a producer with a film called Jet Trash. He has produced two other projects since then, and he will probably work on more in the future.
9. He Is Passionate About Human Rights
If you’ve ever been in a position where you’ve had to stand up for something you believe in, you know it isn’t always easy. Despite that difficulty, Robert hasn’t let that stop him from showing his support for the causes that are important to him. Among those causes is the fight for human rights – especially the fight to end racism.

10. He Has Been Nominated for Several Awards
No matter what line of work you’re in, there’s no better feeling than knowing that your hard work and dedication haven’t gone unnoticed. For people working in entertainment, that recognition typically comes in the form of an award. Although Robert hasn’t taken home any major awards yet, he’s been nominated for five IFTA awards and one BAFTA. If he continues down the path he’s currently on, there’s no doubt that he’ll eventually take home an award.
