Five Actresses Who Should Play Princess Eugenie in a Movie

Who should play Princess Eugenie if there were to be a movie made about her life? Without a doubt, it would require someone who has the ability to play an extremely challenging role. If the actress chosen was not from the United Kingdom, then the person chosen for the role would have to be able to learn how to speak properly with an English accent. This is a skill that obviously comes easier for some than it does for others. That being said, the ability to speak properly, and with the proper accent, is critical to a role such as this one. Otherwise, the credibility of the entire movie is brought into question. Last but certainly not least, you would need to find an actress that is of similar age, or at least someone who could pull of the role and make it believable. There are plenty of fine actresses out there who wouldn’t necessarily be a good fit for this role, by age alone. This is not meant to be discriminatory, but instead comes from the standpoint of accuracy.

Now that the ground rules have been established, so to speak, let’s take a look at five young actresses who have the skills to play the part of Princess Eugenie. Some of them will probably seem like a natural fit to you. Others may surprise you.

1. Jennifer Lawrence

She has already proven that she can handle virtually any kind of role, playing in everything from the Hunger Games to Silver Linings Playbook. She also did Red Sparrow, a film that required her to speak with a Russian Accent. Granted, that’s a lot different than speaking with an English accent but she absolutely nailed it. There is no reason to suspect that she wouldn’t be just as good in a movie about the young Princess. After all, she has proven her versatility as an actress again and again.

2. Brie Larson

If the only thing you’ve seen her in is Captain Marvel and Avengers: Endgame, then you’ve seen her in some truly spectacular roles but you’re also missing out on some of her earlier work, which proves her ability as an actress. Over the course of her career, she has done everything from comedy in sitcoms to movie roles of an extremely serious nature, and virtually everything in between. She’s also the right age, roughly, to play the part so if she can nai the accent, she shouldn’t have any problems making the audience believe that they are not looking at Brie Larson, but at Princess Eugenie herself.

3. Alicia Vikander

This Swedish-born actress already has an impressive resume. She played in movies like Ex Machina and Tomb Raider, but she has also demonstrated that she can handle the more serious roles which require that a certain amount of depth be brought to them. If you have any doubts about her ability to pull off a role as Princess Eugenie, watch her performance in Testament of Youth. She, along with other members of the cast such as Taron Egerton and Kit Harrington, bring their real-life characters to vivid realization for a whole new generation. As a matter of fact, her relationship with her brother Edward, played by Egerton, could very well be considered the foundation of the movie. In real life, the character she plays in the film, Vera Brittain, was moved to first enlist as a nurse during World War I and then to speak out against all future wars, partly because she had lost every man she loved in that war. First her fiancé, then her best friend, and then her brother Edward. The real Vera Brittain knew first-hand what the horrors of war can do to those who are left behind. Vikander brought that depth to her role with such vividness, you might want to check your pulse if you aren’t reaching for a box of tissues in this movie.

4. Margot Robbie

This is yet another versatile actress who has played a multitude of different roles. There is little doubt that she can handle the demands of a role like this, as her previous body of work shows. As is the case with the rest of the group listed herein, she has the acting chops to get the job done and she is close to the right age. If she could nail the accent, she would be a good fit for the part. That being said, so would any of the other actresses that have been discussed.

5. Shailene Woodley

This is the actress responsible for the Divergent movie franchise. She has been acting since she was a child, and like most of the other actresses on this list, she has spent time honing and refining her skills with each successive project that she has been a part of. She also has a reputation for being one of the most fierce actresses in the business and she isn’t the least bit concerned how people see her. She is far more concerned with her ability to bring something new to each role that she takes on. This is something that shows through in her performances and it very well may be what makes her the fine actress that she is.

There you have it, these are the five actresses who could potentially pull off a role as Princess Eugenie. There is no doubt that they all have the ability to do such a role justice. The real question would be which of the five would be the most interested in a role of this type and ultimately, who would get to do it first. That being said, you can rest assured that if any of the five actually ended up doing this role, it would be one worth seeing, as they each have the ability to bring their own talent and experiences to the table.Shailene Woodley
