10 Things You Didn’t Know about Lucas Grabeel

Don’t let the young look fool you, Lucas Grabeel is in his early 30s and yet he still looks a great deal younger. This talented and very driven young actor is the kind of guy that doesn’t seem to really look for the fame but finds it and is extremely grateful when it comes along. You might be able to call him lucky, fortunate, or just good at what he does, but the evidence speaks for itself when you read his filmography since by this point in his career he’s made quite a good accounting of himself. Over the years he’s managed to create a solid career for himself and not get a big head doing it, so score on two counts. In reality he’s just a humble, down to earth type person that likes what he does and feels fortunate that he’s able to continue doing it.

A lot of people might doubt, but that’s their prerogative. Here are a few things you might not have known about Lucas.

10. He placed 5th at a Speech and Debate Championship.

This was back in 2003 but getting fifth in a debate championship seems like it would be a lot harder than it sounds. The mere idea of getting up in front of a bunch of people and delivering a speech or engaging in a debate with another person would make many folks simply keel over from anxiety. Fifth is pretty dang good to be honest.

9. He managed to find work just 2 months after moving to LA.

That’s about as close to hitting the ground running as it seems to come in LA since the town is designed in many ways to take in as many hopeful actors as it can and spit them back out after finding them wanting. Lucas started out with a commercial however and never looked back as he just kept moving forward.

8. He attended the same high school that Brad Pitt did.

The name of the school was Kickapoo High. It might sound like an odd name to many people but around the parts that he grew up in it was actually pretty common. Plus, let’s not get into the odd names that some schools take on, or their mascots.

7. He made regular trips to Guatemala for six years as part of a missionary group.

As if you needed another reason to like the guy it’s seen that he’s been an altruistic individual for a long time it seems. A lot of celebrities take on charities and causes that they want to champion in order to make the lives of others better, and it’s always nice to see.

6. He auditioned for a role on The Young and The Restless.

With this guy’s looks and his acting talent it would have been kind of easy to get in it seems like. But sometimes that’s not quite enough as such shows tend to want certain things and to have their actors behave in certain ways that make the show what it is.

5. As a kid his favorite dance was the hokey pokey.

Go on and laugh, it is kind of funny after all and a lot of us were probably doing the same thing when we were younger since hey, we were kids. Whether he does the hokey pokey now or not is kind of up for debate, but if he does it’s probably not that often.

4. He’s very into music.

Lucas knows how to play the guitar, piano, and the accordion. Really, he knows how to play the accordion, an instrument that was dying out when a lot of us were still kids. If he’s good at it and likes it though then to each their own.

3. He likes to dance.

He’s really into jazz, ballet, hip-hop, and tap. With such a wide range there’s no doubt that he knows a few good moves and could possibly shift from one style to the other if he practiced. It’s impressive enough to realize that he’s been taught so many different styles really.

2. He used to work at a Blockbuster Video.

You remember those places that you used to be able to go to on a Friday or Saturday night and wander the aisles, looking at the hundreds if not thousands of selections that were arranged so neatly on the shelves? Recall those many minutes you used to spend perusing every title, searching for that perfect movie that would make your night. Then recall the clerk that was simply waiting for you to make the decision and bring them to the counter. Yeah, he was one of those guys for a while. Hey, it was a job.

1. He’s starred on Halloweentown High.

These movies still come on every Halloween with fail as fans still enjoy them and new generations have even seen the joy in them. So yes they’re a little corny and a little hokey, but they’re for kids, and young girls used to fawn over Lucas, if they don’t still.

All around he’s just an impressive man to be honest.
