Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Nails Rap from ‘Moana’ on The Graham Norton Show

You can easily imagine that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson has had to nail his rap from Moana a few times for the children before doing it on the Graham Norton Show. Given that he’s probably approached by children everywhere he goes it’s easy to assume that he knows the whole rap front to back and so on at this point. The best part about this however is that he’s so cool about it. He obviously doesn’t want to perform every single second of the day and might even get a little tired from time to time of the song. But the fact remains that Johnson is a showman and more than that, he’s a crowd pleaser when it comes to his job as an actor and a celebrity. What he’s like behind closed doors has often been described as being just about as nice as he is on TV. Sure he probably likes to kick back and just have time to himself with his family now and again, but when he’s in the public eye the Rock is usually still one of the most electrifying men in the world when it comes to entertainment.

If anyone can remember just what Johnson was like when he first entered the WWE he wasn’t that great of a character. The company tried to play on his Polynesian roots and even make him out to be kind of like High Chief Peter Maivia, but the angle didn’t really work. Johnson has never really given up his Polynesian roots and in fact embraces them, but as far as his persona went in the ring to start with it fell flat. When he came out as the pie-eating, jabroni-beating, eyebrow-raising Great One though it started to turn around, and a star was born. By the time Johnson’s career really took off the Brahma Bull, as he was called, had become the true People’s Champion and no matter if he was the heel or the face he was the guy that ran the place. His feuds with Stone Cold Steve Austin, the Undertaker, Mankind, and other wrestlers lit up the stage in a way that hasn’t happened in a long time.

And then he went Hollywood, and people thought he sold out. He stayed away for a while but then came back sporadically to pay-per-views and other events so as to make it known that he was still around. He even competed a few times to make it interesting. But as of now Johnson is almost entirely Hollywood and his legacy still lives. Though some of his movies didn’t do all that well he’s still persevered and managed to become one of the biggest stars in Hollywood as of now. It no longer matters if his movies are that good, it’s the fact that he is who he is that sells the movie.

As for kids’ movies, Moana is definitely one of his best despite any criticisms. The fact that he can still recall that one portion of the song over and over isn’t surprising, but it’s very cool.
