No matter how serious or influential a movie or television series is, there will always be people out there who will satirize it. It’s just the way our culture works. P.S. I’m not saying it should be any different. In fact when something is made fun of it’s usually a sign of just how popular the film or show is. Sure there are films and shows that are so bad where mockery is necessary but that’s not what I’m talking about here.
I’m talking about the classics that when spun in different directions usually get a laugh out of people. We’ve all seen what it would have looked like had The Matrix starred Will Smith. But what if The Matrix was really just a children’s book? Can you imagine what that would appear like? Luckily we don’t have to imagine anymore. Artist Joey Spiotto created this adorable series of geeky pop culture children’s book covers called “Storytime”.
The photos you’ll see below are part of a much larger series that Spiotto made but these are a few of the highlights. I’m pretty sure “Aliens” is my favorite one in this group.
