This week on America’s Got Talent, things are a little different. Last night’s episode aired at 9 pm instead of the usual 8 pm. The talent level, however, remained the same. Though I can’t say that for some of the acts that appeared on the AGT stage.
I don’t have a favourite act after watching the episode. Though the kid magician who performed with his little sister was mind boggling that someone so young knows how to perform magic. I do hope that he can figure out a way to put his sister back together.
When the sword swallower came onstage, I looked away from the screen and waited for it to be over. The sword swallower finished the act by pulling a convertible with Nick Cannon at the driver’s seat. It was dangerous and quite nerve-wracking to watch.
It was shocking to see that the great Simon Cowell has a fear of clowns. I have never been to the circus so I wouldn’t know the extent of this type of fear. The clowns that auditioned, however, were beyond abysmal.
After years of watching the show, I found that acts that are excellent get to be interviewed by the staff. So it was a bit of a shock that a bad act would get the chance to be interviewed. Way to throw us off, show!
The interaction between the judges in this episode was amusing. Howie and Simon are driving what I call a fancier version of the Smart car, Heidi and Mel B are driving a yellow Hummer. I was smiling from ear to ear watching Howie sticking his head out from the sunroof asking for directions to the theater. Heidi was driving like a maniac and Mel B was freaking out, mouthing “Help me” to the camera. I’m also curious to know if Howie made that ice sculpture of Simon (which ended up breaking). If he did, how did he find the time to create the frozen bust of Simon and how did he get such a large block of ice?
The highlight of the episode was Christopher’s one-man dance group act. It had everyone in the audience, along with Heidi and Mel B, doing the YMCA. I was confused when he walked offstage, but when he came back, I was reminded of the Village People. Wonder what Christopher will bring to the next round that will top his YMCA act?
What did you think of last night’s AGT? Will Simon ever get over his fear of clowns or will he send his dancing stormtroopers after them?
