The Vampire Diaries left fans with a pretty big cliffhanger at the end of its last new episode in March. After the show finally caught up to its flash-forwards, which take place three years into the future, it showed us Stefan captured by The Huntress and seemingly about to die. However, it was revealed that Damon had volunteered to take the scar from his brother and sacrifice himself instead.
So how will Stefan respond to Damon’s plan in this week’s all-new episode of The Vampire Diaries, titled “Days of Future Past”? Judging from the clip below, not too well, as both Damon and Rayna are left injured with Stefan nowhere to be found.
“So weird,” Rayna says. “How Stefan ran away from your offer.”
“He’s just being a martyr,” Damon responds. “Probably thinks I can’t handle the scar.”
With there being so much focus on Damon and Stefan’s relationship lately, and how the codependency of it only leads to damage and death, is there any chance that Stefan allows his brother to take the scar away from him? Or will he keep the mark, no matter how long Rayna chases after him? We’ll have to wait and see how it all unfold in tonight’s hour, which is actually directed by Damon Salvatore himself, Ian Somerhalder.
The Vampire Diaries airs Fridays at 8 p.m. on The CW. Check out the sneak peek from “Days of Future Past” below:
