The adorable breakout droid from Star Wars: The Force Awakens rolled onto The Late Late Show with James Corden stage where Reggie Watts and house band dedicated a song to him.
Introduced as Watts’ muse and inspiration for all of his music ever since the age of 13, BB-8 has a great sense of humor when asked if this means he’s also a big fan of the show. Watts translates his very politely sarcastic answer that he apparently is a fan.
The band starts jamming to some “droid funk” with Watts on vocals. BB-8 breaks it down in his solo part of the song collaboration while rolling around stage with a dancing Watts. It’s truly a sight to see, even if you’re a casual Star Wars fan. With lyrics and music as catchy as these, you’ll be humming the tune all day.
“BB-8, you’re an inspiration for a generation. Yes, you are. Inspiration for generations to come.”
Even his little bow at the end of the performance was cute and deserving of a standing ovation from the studio audience, don’t you agree?
