Bill Paxton Was the Guy That Played Every Man You Know

Friends, colleagues and fans celebrated the life of actor Bill Paxton Sunday, after news of the “Training Day’ star died on Saturday. Paxton, 61, died due to complications from surgery, his family said in a statement. “Bill’s passion for the arts was felt by all who knew him, and his warmth and tireless energy were undeniable,” relatives said in the statement. In my estimation the best way to describe Bill Paxton is “he’s the guy who played every single other man you know.”

Whether it was his humble beginnings as a street punk in Terminator, a crew member in Alien, or a foul mouthed militant brother named Chet in Weird Science, Bill Paxton always took a piece of someone you knew into every role he played.  Whether he was a loser car salesman pretending to be a spy or a cocky scientist who liked to chase Tornadoes, you knew that guy.   Whether he played a guy from the old West, or a scientist studying the Titanic, you knew that guy.  Paxton always seemed to play someone you knew.  And with that carried a vibe of a man you knew.

Turns out in real life he was a man that everyone not only knew, but loved.  At only 61 Hollywood has lost one of its finer actors way too soon.  Just beginning a new show in “Training Day,”  Bill Paxton will always be remembered….and missed.  RIP
