On April 2, XO, Kitty season 3 arrived on Netflix, and fans who binged all eight episodes are already asking for more.
The third season finally resolved Kitty’s romantic subplot with Min Ho (Sang Heon Lee). After initially breaking up, the two decided love was worth the risk and headed to Kitty’s hometown in the finale.
Despite giving Kitty (Anna Cathcart) a seemingly happy ending, the series leaves the door open for the youngest Covey sibling to have more adventures in South Korea. However, Netflix has yet to officially announce a fourth installment, making the wait even more agonizing for fans.
XO, Kitty season 4 can tell a more mature story

Although it sometimes falters, season 3 proved the series can tell a more mature story with Kitty. Unlike previous seasons, where she chased the idea of romance, the latest chapter finally saw her commit to a relationship.
Showrunner Valentina Garza not only gave Kitty time to self-reflect but also allowed her to mature into a young adult. Therefore, season 4 absolutely needs to happen, continuing Kitty’s arc by tackling more mature themes now that she’s finally ready for a stable relationship.
Kitty still has one more semester to spend in Seoul

The series centers on Kitty’s experiences at the Korean Independent School of Seoul, with each season set during one semester. Seasons 1 and 2 took place during her junior year, while season 3 covered the first half of her senior year.
That means one more semester remains, as Kitty must graduate before her time in South Korea comes to a close. Most supporting characters also have to find their own paths, and graduation could be the perfect moment for the friend group to go their separate ways.
Netflix’s cancellation history is bad news for XO, Kitty

Netflix has a history of canceling popular shows after three seasons.
In the past, the service has axed titles like Heartstopper and Alice in Borderland after three outings. Some reports suggest the decision stems from the platform’s desire to avoid paying higher royalties.
Moreover, Netflix typically renews its most-watched titles before releasing new episodes. This is the case with Ginny & Georgia and Virgin River, which secured renewals well in advance.
Since Netflix hasn’t announced season 4 yet, its renewal pattern and cancellation history spell trouble for XO, Kitty’s future.
XO, Kitty has a big To All the Boys problem

Since the series is a spin-off of the To All the Boys films, it frequently relies on callbacks to the original trilogy to keep viewers invested. Season 2 saw Noah Centineo return as Peter Kavinsky, while Lana Condor reprised her role as Lara Jean Song-Covey in the follow-up.
In season 3, Peter and Lara Jean hit a rough patch, but most of the storyline happened offscreen. Every time the series brings back the popular couple, it risks upending their already perfect ending and angering diehard fans.
In the finale, both Kitty and Lara Jean commit to their respective true loves, and it might be best to conclude their stories on that note.
Fans still can’t get enough of Kitty and Min Ho

From the start, Kitty and Min Ho were set up as love interests, but the series took a slow-burn approach to their romance. While they got together early in season 3, they broke up just as quickly before reuniting in the finale.
Their swoon-worthy moments went instantly viral on social media. From their photobooth kiss to their Portland flight, viewers couldn’t get enough of the pairing. As long as audiences remain invested in their romance, the series will draw strong viewership, justifying a fourth season.
