A lot of have those times when we want to step out of our own lives and experience what it’s like to be someone else, someone popular, and someone that gets all the attention. Teen Witch was a movie that was designed specifically to show just what could happen when someone that doesn’t have anything going for them gets a taste of the kind of power that can elevate them to something that’s far beyond anything they ever imagined, only to realize that they didn’t really need it in the first place. As far as memorable movies go this one has been buried for quite some time and has probably only stuck in the memories of those that remember when it came out and believed that it would be a big hit. It was a charming movie for the time but to be very honest it’s one that could be revamped, but possibly in a much better way.
So what happened to the cast?
Mandy Ingber – Polly
Mandy didn’t do much acting after Teen Witch but she did go on to be a yoga instructor and a very fitness-minded individual that even went so far as to help out various celebrities with their fitness regimens. She’s been heavily into the fitness routine for quite some time now. While her acting career didn’t really last that long she did manage to find her calling it seems and it’s treated her very well.
Zelda Rubenstein – Madame Serena
As you might imagine Zelda had kind of a rough childhood since she was the only person in her family with dwarfism. But largely because of this she was able to overcome any feelings of inferiority largely because she learned to take people head-on and present herself in a very positive and sometimes forthright manner since she felt the need to dispel the feeling that less is less. She’d already completed several memorable roles by the time she took on her role in Teen Witch and been immortalized thanks to her appearance in the Poltergeist movies, where she was one of the most influential characters out of the entire cast. After this movie she continued onward, keeping her career alive and managing to land several more roles that were not quite as great as what she’d already done, but were still fun to see since any appearance by her was something of a treat considering how great an actor she was. Unfortunately Zelda passed away in 2010 from several pre-existing conditions that had been ongoing for some time.
Joshua John Miller – Richie Miller
Joshua Miller was kind of born to be in front of the camera as he started at a very young age and is actually the half-brother of Jason Patric. He’s been noted for playing several roles before he was in Teen Witch. After the film he still continued to act and he’s racked up an impressive resume to date. At this current time he’s been starring in Queen of the South, a show for which he’s also the executive producer.
Dan Gauthier – Brad Powell
It’s interesting to note that Dan’s on screen debut was in Married…With Children, while in films Teen Witch was his big screen debut. From that point on he was kind of made into the pretty boy that could either be the nice guy or the straight up jerk that a lot of people liked but was in reality nothing but a sleaze. This role was one that he was given in Son in Law, the Pauly Shore movie that came out not too long after Teen Witch. He’s been a solid actor for a while now and has been keeping up with his career as much as possible.
Robyn Lively – Louise Miller
Robyn was kind of born into a family that had high expectations when it came to being in show business. Since the age of 7 she’s been in front of the screen and has been seeking to maintain a career. She’s still listed as active and has continued to star in TV shows and in movies to this date. Her career took off in the 80s as she was seen as someone that was in some ways very much like the girl next door, the type of young woman that people could approach and relate to. Throughout her many appearances she’s been a joy to see every now and again, though at one point she kind of had to give up the spotlight to her younger half-sister Blake. Even now though Robyn is still skilled enough to be counted as one of the more endearing actors that has continued forward after her best years.
Teen Witch was definitely one of those movies that is best left in the past where it was made since it was great for the 80s and constitutes a great memory for many. It could be redone, but it would need to be handled with great care.
