Why You Should Be Watching Mysteries of the Outdoors

Now in its second season, Travel Channel’s ‘Mysteries of the Outdoors’ is a fascinating documentary series. The program travels to different areas in North America to where unexplained incidents and paranormal activities have been reported. Many areas of the outdoors in North America are largely unexplored and it is in these areas where thousands of accounts of mysterious incidents are reported each year. Each half-hour episode visits a different outdoors location in North America and focuses on the mysterious events that have taken place there. If you haven’t already seen this show, here are just a few of the reasons why you should start watching ‘Mysteries of the Outdoors’ on Travel Channel.

Fascinating Accounts

Each episode covers a different area with a different type of mystery and shows interviews with people who have encountered the mysteries. For example, the episode titled ‘Forest UFOs’ concentrates on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forests where it is believed there is an extraterrestrial presence with believers arguing that the aliens are coming to monitor the happenings at the nearby nuclear weapons facilities. Just two of the reports in this episode are of alien abduction and encountering a strange humanoid monster. Eye-witnesses provide fascinating accounts of the things they have seen, heard and felt.

Admire the Outdoors of North America

Even if you do not believe in the sightings and events that are covered in this show, it is still a great program to watch. The show visits some of the most beautiful outdoor spots in North America, showing diverse landscapes, picturesque scenes, and historical or significant structures and landmarks. If you enjoy travel shows, geographical programs, or nature documentaries, then there are elements of this program that will appeal to you.

Historical Information

The series is also great for finding out more about North America as many of the locations visited in the program are of historical significance. A great example of this is the Chaco Canyon National Historic Park, built by the ancient Anasazi, which is visited in an episode called ‘Cosmic Gateway. This episode talks about the history of the park in relation to sightings of shape-shifting creatures and the theories that surround this mystery. One group believe time travelers have left behind an artifact while others believe the historic park is a portal between a star system and earth.

Interesting Theories

For each of the different mysteries, there are thought-provoking theories provided. These come from both the eyewitnesses who have experienced the event and also from experts in a range of different fields. The theories range from the logical to the bizarre. Some theories support the claims of the paranormal or extraterrestrial phenomenon while others provide scientific evidence that supports other explanations for what people claim to have seen. These help you to form your own decisions on the matter.

Regardless of whether you are a believer of the mysteries covered in each episode or you are cynical about the existence of such phenomena, it is well worth switching over to the Travel Channel next time ‘Mysteries of the Outdoors’ is aired.
