10 Things You Didn’t Know about Valerie Mason

It’s kind of amusing to think that those who read Playboy religiously or claim to at least use it for the articles would likely remember a lot of women that have come and gone throughout its long history. Playmates especially seem to gain more attention from those men that either have great memories and no life or simply great memories for faces and, well, other attributes. Valerie Mason is one woman among many that posed for the famed publication and even managed to move into the Playboy mansion for a while during her brief tenure. But if anyone recognized her from pictures and any of her work it’s likely that they wouldn’t recognize her as easily now thanks to the course that her life has taken and the obvious difference that comes from wearing lots of makeup and looking glamorous as opposed to getting a mugshot. Some guys might recognize her, but it would still be impressive if they did.

Here are a few things about Valerie you might not have known.

10. She was recently arrested for possession of meth.

Rachelle Lewis of Celebrity Insider is just one of many that decided to cover this story and to be honest it’s not one that seems likely to stick around for more than a short stint. While she and the men she was with deny any knowledge of the substance or the items they were found with it could go badly for Valerie if she’s found guilty of possession and it could even come with jail time. This is one situation that being a former Playmate couldn’t help, though there is hope that if she’s not found guilty that she might walk.

9. Valerie used to work at an ice cream shop.

This was when she was back in school and likely far more innocent than people have seen her as in the last several years. She was even a cheerleader at her former school, which goes to show that life can offer some serious twists and turns that a lot of people aren’t expecting.

8. She’s currently in her early 30s.

A lot of folks don’t like to talk about age as a stereotype since it does seem to kind of pigeon-hole a lot of people, but being younger does seem to indicate that people will make stupid decisions in their lives more frequently since the consequences aren’t always as well-known just yet.

7. Valerie was Playmate of the Month in September of 2008.

This isn’t something that was just given out at any given time since being a Playmate meant a lot of exposure and a great deal of attention from Hugh Hefner as well as those that read the magazine. One would think that being a Playmate would elevate a woman’s career to a degree that they might find fame and fortune waiting for them only a little ways down the road.

6. She did appear in several episodes of The Girls Next Door.

This seems like it would be a hard show to break into even if a woman was already part of the Playboy stable since not only does it seem competitive when it comes to how much attention is lavished upon the stars, but it also seems as though a woman had to convince Hugh that she was worth keeping around at that time, which was likely kind of difficult.

5. Her social media presence isn’t all that big.

This is just further proof that she didn’t really mesh with the whole Playboy idea as much as other women did. You do have to wonder in a way just how many women really went on to fame and fortune after posing in the nude and how many were just there for the brief fifteen minutes of fame before they went on their merry way.

4. Apparently she’s been working in auto sales for a while now.

People have to work right? No matter what happens with a career that didn’t work, people have bills to pay and a lifestyle to afford no matter if it’s the high life or something slightly less than they were hoping for.

3. She never managed to get the same kind of attention that other playmates did.

It just didn’t happen for her despite the fact that she was brought on and became a Playmate. Something about Valerie just didn’t vibe with the rest of the group and not long after she’d been taken in her career went back to the nothing it had been before.

2. Valerie trained as a tap and ballet dancer.

It would seem that she had a few skills when she was younger and still had a lot of promise to her life, so it’s kind of interesting to think on why she didn’t try to fall back on such skills.

1. Apart from her time with Playboy there’s really not much else on her.

A lot of people that have a brush with fame at least try to keep themselves in the mix, but it would appear that Valerie just fell off the map in a big way.

Some folks just aren’t cut out for the high life it seems.
