Five Things You Didn’t Know About “American Beauty Star”

American Beauty Star” is a new Lifetime series that premiered September 21, 2017. The show is a competition based program that is hosted by Adriana Lima. This is another glam reality show that is likely to be a success because of the high number of younger viewers who have an interest in hair, makeup and fashion tips. Cash and prizes are up for grabs for the most skillful artists. Here are five things that you didn’t know about the show which is soon to premiere.

1. There will be a winner every week

While most beauty and glamour competitions offer a grand prize to work for, “American Beauty Star” is a little different. The contestants will pair up so there is a hair expert and a makeup expert on the same team. They will work with their model to achieve the best possible look through hair styling and the application of cosmetic makeup. Each day there will be winner chosen. This doesn’t mean that it’s over though. At the end of the competition season, the grand prize winner gets $50,000 in addition to beauty products and a spot on the beauty team at an editorial shoot for Teen Vogue.

2. There will be a lineup of famous judges

We’ve learned that some of the most famous personalities in the fashion and beauty industry will be on hand to give our contestants some pointers and assess their current skill levels. They include Russell James, Sarah Brown, and a special third guest judge each week. Some of the celebrity guest judges will be Michelle Williams, Camilla Alves, Christie Brinkley, Mona Kattan, Michelle Phan, Elaine Welteroth, Behati Prinsloo and Huda Kattan.

3. The show is different than other reality fashion series

Ariana Lima discussed how “American Beauty Star” will be different that most other reality fashion shows. The focus will be more on the human side than some of the others. The artists will face challenges, just like other women do when applying makeup or trying a new hair style. There are a lot of emotions that go behind it, and cosmetics are very personal, even more so than clothing. This will be a competition program that viewers will be able to connect with.

4. There will be no gimmicks in the show

Sarah Brown will serve as a judge on the show and she indicates that the show will be free from gimmicks, so what audiences are seeing from their television sets will be the real thing. There is no reason to tear a contestant down, but rather to give them advice that will be useful. The judges are all experts who have the experience that is necessary to give solid feedback. There will be no dramatization, just the pure interactions among cast members.
