The Top Uses of Bee Gees Hit “Stayin’ Alive” In Movies or TV

Apparently Stayin’ Alive, one of the most noted and popular songs ever produced by the Bee Gees was written and conceptualized on a staircase in Paris, France. They’d been asked to produce a few new songs for the movie Saturday Night Fever and were busily attempting to make a hit that could satisfy the studio and their fans. Well, they struck gold with this one since it’s been a favorite hit ever since. Even when the era of Disco waned and eventually just about disappeared, this song persisted. It’s been used in so many different aspects of pop culture at this point that it feels safe to say that it’s not going anywhere for the perceived future.

The best part is that you don’t have to even like Disco to really get into it.

5. The Secret Life of Pets

Max and Duke don’t like each other, that’s a well-established fact at this point in the movie. The lives of pets when their owners aren’t around seems almost like a very juvenile existence but it’s still one that carries a great deal of dire implications for pets if they’re not properly looked after and are allowed to roam free and without any real responsibility. Plus, a dog walking another dog is just a little strange.

4. Lip Sync Battle

The Rock, sorry, Dwayne Johnson, is a true showman as he’s displayed in the WWE and on film for the last many years. He knows how to get the crowd on his side and he knows how to show the people just what they want. Do you think that he might have sung this song and danced to it when he was younger? In any case it’s a lot of fun to watch and you can tell that he’s having a good time. He even got LL Cool J and Jimmy Fallon to join in a bit.

3. Dancing With The Stars

You just knew that this song had to be featured on a show like this. The temptation to bring it out in such a way was just too great and couldn’t be resisted. This is a testament however to just how great this song is and the effect it has on people. A lot of folks will want to get up and dance the moment this track hits while others might at least sing along and tap their toes to the beat.

2. Ted

Ted is a weird movie, there I said it. A talking teddy bear that befriends a human is in fact a kind of strange premise for a movie but somehow it was made to work well enough that it got a sequel and created a fan base that could have possibly carried over from those that had already thought that Seth McFarlane was already that great. Granted, he does have a way of making people laugh.

1. Saturday Night Fever

This is the film that the song was originally written for. Tony Manero is the kind of guy that just wants to get away from the life he knows and discover something on the other side of the fence so to speak. Due to a life that is highly unsatisfying he makes Saturday his regular night to go out and cut a rug at the local dance club. That’s really a big chunk of what the film is about.

Stayin’ alive……
