For those of you who have never seen the CBS soap, “The Young and the Restless”, it revolves around two powerful families in Genoa City, Illinois. One is the Newman family, whose patriarch, Victor Newman, is a super-successful ruthless businessman. He keeps divorcing and re-marrying the love of his life, Nikki Newman, a former stripper. Their kids, Victoria, Nicholas, and the late Adam Newman, are always at odds with Victor and for plenty of good reasons. The other main family is the Abbotts and the head of that family, Jack Abbott, is Victor’s nemesis. He owns the Abbott family business, Jabot cosmetics, which is knee-deep in a nasty competition with brother Billy’s ex-wife, Victoria Newman’s company, Brash & Sassy. To further complicate family matters, Billy stole Jack’s wife, Phyllis, who is Nicholas Newman’s ex-wife.

Victoria has a heated argument with Phyllis in the elevator and, when she gets back to the office, she kisses Billy. And, about time! For months now, viewers have been rooting for a Billy/Victoria reconciliation but Vic has been afraid to tell Billy that she’s still in love with him because he’s with Phyllis now. But, not for long, as everyone predicts Billy and Vic will be back together soon and one big happy family with their kids again.

After Victoria has had to fire Cane Ashby from her company, Brash & Sassy, for lying, cheating, and getting a co-worker pregnant, Cane is adamant that he does not want his teenage daughter, Maddie, dating Vic’s son, Reed. The two have other ideas, however, and Maddie skips school to go over to Reed’s house and have a make out session. The school calls Cane though and he figures out that she’s been lying. He heads over to Reed’s house and spots Maddie’s headband on the couch. He lays into Reed just as Vic comes through the front door, flips out, and throws him out of her house.
3. Hilary’s at it Again

In spite of the fact that Victoria is still in love with Billy, she accepts a dinner date with handsome but shifty Benjamin Hochman. During dinner, she starts getting a ringing in the ears thing that seems to change her personality whenever it occurs. She suddenly becomes a seductress and takes Ben to bed. Days later, she figures out that he’s targeting her company for a takeover and gets into a fight with him in the hallway at the Genoa City Athletic Club. Hilary happens to be nearby, gets a video of the whole thing on her phone and airs it on her gossipy local TV show, airing Victoria’s dirty laundry and the affair on the air, proving once again that a leopard can’t change its spots.
4. More Than Just Friends?
Mariah and Tessa are besties but could there be more boiling below the surface? Mariah is in love with billionaire, Devon Hamilton, and Tess is in love with Mariah’s half-brother, Noah. Will both guys get a rude awakening and their hearts broken when they find out that there’s more going on between these two lovely ladies?
5. Scott is Rescued!
Back in February, Lauren’s son Scott Grainger was in danger in the middle East and in need of rescuing. He’s being held for ransom and who puts up the money? Well, Victor Newman, of course. The scenes of the rescue, as Kevin Fisher travels to deliver the ransom money, are very exciting indeed and seem almost major motion picture-like. It’s one of the more exciting soap scenes of the year and turns Kevin into a Liam Neeson-type character rather than a computer nerd like before.
