There is a type of elegance inherit within certain cars such as the Lamborghini that simply can’t be found anywhere else. That could be why they’re so prominent in films even if they’re just used as window dressing. Their sleek and impressive lines turn heads no matter where they go, and as a prop they’re simply amazing to watch as they glide down the road. In many films if you want to seem impressive or somehow more important a Lamborghini is the way to go. If nothing else it just looks cool and will definitely get people talking.
Here are just a few films in which the Lamborghini is featured in its various forms.
5. Diablo – Dumb and Dumber
Something about a glamorous red Lamborghini just screams wealth, style, and in some cases an overabundance of cash. Harry and Lloyd are two of the last people you want riding around in a Lambo considering that two of their last vehicles were a scooter that could barely make it up an off ramp and a shaggin’ wagon that was an old converted Econoline van. The Diablo is extravagance to the extreme, and it’s way too much for two guys that share about a half a brain between them.
4. Countach – Big
This is where a Lambo is little more than a prop, but an impressive one. Initially you’d have to wonder what a fine car such as this is doing in a toy shop. But then you could look a little closer and realize that it’s little more than an over-sized toy. I mean really, look at the scale comparison between the kid standing next to it and the inside of the car. It’s a nice toy no doubt, but that’s about as far as it goes.
3. Aventador -Transformers: Age of Extinction
Lockout was one the main bad guys in Extinction and a lot people thought his character was overplayed. But watching him turn into a Lamborghini Aventador however was just cool. He was among the fastest of the bunch and wasn’t shy about dispensing what he believed was justice when going after Optimus Prime. It’s kind of regrettable that a transformer that could turn into something so cool had to be a bad guy, but oh well.
2. Murcielago Roadster – Batman Begins
When you’re rich like Bruce Wayne any car seems in your price range. A Lamborghini that might cost the rest of us our paychecks for the next hundred years is a toy to Wayne, who owns however many cars he feels the need for the moment. Not to mention he kind of dismisses it in favor of his favorite car, the batmobile. Of course if the Lambo made a model that could do maximum damage and steer it’s way through a battlefield then maybe the old batmobile would become obsolete. Maybe he can get Lucius Fox started on that.
1. Diablo Roadster VT – Exit Wounds
The Diablo must be a popular model since it seems to appear so often in films. Slightly different than the model in Dumb and Dumber, this sleek machine doesn’t get much play outside of being a prop, but it still looks good. It’s even better when the two associates drop a sack-load of cash on the uppity salesman and then request that the guy who gave them the keys get the commission. Can you say ka-ching?
Lamborghini’s are among the royalty of automobiles and know how to flaunt it on the road. It doesn’t even matter who drives one all that often, it only matters that it looks cool.
