‘Candyman’ is a 1992 supernatural horror film which was released in 1992. It was written and directed by Bernard Rose. It follows graduate Helen Lyle, played by Virginia Madsen, as she is completing her thesis on urban legends who have experienced the ‘Candyman’ who is awoken by saying his name five times into a mirror. When he appears, he kills the person who has summoned him with a hook he had fitted when his arm was severed. At the end of the movie, Helen saves a baby but is fatally burned and enters folklore becoming a legend herself. The soundtrack for this movie has been recognized as a classic score. It was composed by Philip Glass.
