Patrick Stewart has been Professor Charles Xavier on film for so long it’s almost impossible for us to associate him with any other character. It’s like the X-Men Patrick Stewart and the Star Trek Patrick Stewart are completely different people. It’s as if Stewart has lead alternate lifestyles for the past 30 years. It’s easy to forget that Stewart is a classically trained actor and doing Shakespeare was/is one of his strongest aspects of his repertoire (that and being a proud poop emoji actor).
If you haven’t seen Patrick Stewart do Shakespeare then you should have tuned in to Sesame Street nearly a decade ago. It was there that Stewart came in, full on Shakespearian garbs, and belted out a soliloquy on the letter “B.” Needless to say he nailed it and it reminds you that Patrick Stewart’s always been Patrick Stewart.
There’s nothing not to like about this guy.
