The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 4 Finale Review: Happiness & Joy… Until The Reunion.

First and foremost, tonight’s finale of The Real Housewives of Atlanta only had me saying one thing when it was all said and done: “Screw the finale. Screen the reunion NOW!”

For a finale, tonight’s episode was pretty much run of the mill, but it still sustained my interest more than any of the previous installments did. Four out of the six Housewives had some sort of “closure” by the end of the hour, while Phaedra and Sheree only served as supporting cast members for Kandi and Kim. But true “WTF?!” moment of the night came when Bravo revealed sneak peeks for the reunion which is scheduled to air next week. Before I drool even more over that morsel of catty goodness, let’s run a checklist of where our women found themselves at the end of this season.

Kim

With her own personal pseudo-spinoff on the way in a week, Kim (and Bravo) pretty much set up the stage for that little experiment by giving basically a sneak peek of what to expect from Don’t Be Tardy for the Wedding. I just hope Kroy will do something other than smile and agree to everything Kim says. I’m just saying…

It was Kroy’s birthday and Kim decided to surprise her man with a brand new car. A Porsche to be exact. Now I know I might get a lot of haters for this, but I seriously wonder if Kim bought that Porsche with Kroy’s own money. Yes, she might have her own money, but you would think that if she can afford to buy Kroy a Porsche then they should be able to own their house instead of renting it. Just saying…

Cynthia

With Mal out of her hair, Cynthia was able to have a successful casting call which produced enough young men and women to be considered an actual “class.” As for the millions of hopefuls who showed up to make the cut, I had to agree with Cynthia when she declared that not everyone can be a model, despite what your friends and loved ones might tell you. However, Cynthia used her old pal Russell Simmons’s advice from earlier in the season and suggested for those who didn’t get into the model part of the agency to try other avenues in the business instead. For that, I commend Cynthia for how she handled that trying part of the search and see a successful business in her future. The same can be said for her and Peter’s relationship as well.

NeNe

NeNe announced to Cynthia that her divorce to Gregg was finalized, meaning that she’s single… but is she really ready to mingle?

I ask because we got another chance to see NeNe’s is “he or isn’t he?” beau John Kolaj, who came bearing more gifts for his business partner/object of his affection. This time around John bestowed to NeNe a $30,000 Rolex, which NeNe shocked but not too much to the point of tears or a “Praise the Lord!” NeNe’s response was more like a parent giving a kid a new iMac system when the kid got one a year earlier. With all these lavish gifts being thrown to NeNe from John, you can’t help but wonder if she’s broken him off something or not. If she has, then I wonder how John reacted when he saw that Gregg and NeNe are still “friends… with benefits,” according to the blurb at the end of the finale?

Kandi

After tackling country music, an irate mother, and a monsterous duo in Kim and Sheree, Kandi finally found some “Happiness & Joy” with the reveal of her new sex toy line, which goes to prove just how much of a closet freak Kandi really is, which is awesome. The party was the last stage for all the Housewives to be in the same room together for one last hurrah of the season, but NeNe poked a hole in that plan quickly as all the sex talk and shirtless men was too much for her to take. Even Cynthia and Marlo gave NeNe the “WTH?!” look as NeNe left the party with the quickness, possibly with her eyes firmly planted in her purse again. NeNe claimed that her early departure wasn’t any shade towards Kandi, but the abruptness of it can easily be interpreted another way. Did Kandi care? Of course not. She had sex toys to promote, people.

Now let’s talk about the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion clip, which was complete and utter awesomeness and next Sunday can not get here quick enough. It looks like no one will get away unscathed and alliances seems to have been thrown out the window. Did I mention how much I can’t wait for this train wreck to begin?

So that’s my take on the Real Housewives of Atlanta Season Four finale. Can’t wait to see you all next week as the fur, weave, and stilettos fly! What was your take on tonight’s episode?
