The Real Housewives of Atlanta 3.13 “Tour-Ture” Review

The Real Housewives of Atlanta returned from it’s short winter hiatus and set the stage for the drama that might permeate throughout the rest of the season.

“Bam, Now What?!”

When Phaedra declared her latest social function (a “sip ‘n’ see”) a “Southern tradition,” I had to wonder if she was from some sort of parallel universe because I had never heard of such a thing. After a quick Google search, it was revealed that Phaedra actually hadn’t made anything up this time around concerning her latest display of bourgeois tomfoolery. With that said, it was still a bit much.

Other than Dwight’s increasingly irrelevance on the show, the party presented us with a truce between Phaedra and Kim, who presented her nursing papers to Phaedra proving she’s a registered nurse. After having the truth slammed in her face, Phaedra fell back on hearsay as the basis of her ignorance towards Kim’s past profession. Funny. Wasn’t it hearsay that Phaedra was advocating against last week in her argument with Kim? Come on now, Phaedra.

Kim and Kandi’s Bogus Journey

This entire segment was headache inducing, especially with Kim being a complete brat with Sweetie along like a Nicole Ritche sidekick. It’s very hard to root for Kim when she turns around and does something completely stupid within the next second. Not being professional at the beginning of the tour was very idiotic and foolish on her part, especially with Kandi’s reputation on the line. With that said, Don Juan, Kandee’s tour manager, wasn’t making things any better. At first, he was very much in the right about Kim needing to get her act together, but later his condescending tone was a bit too much even for my ears. Granted, Kim can be a handful and maybe Don Juan was just trying to exert some force to get his point across. Either way, Kandi will need a prayer to make it through all of that drama in the coming weeks.

Hill Harper, CSI: New York Needs You Back On Set. STAT!

To deal with the latest chip on Peter’s shoulder, Cynthia called her good friend actor Hill Harper, aka Dr. Sheldon Hawkes on CSI: New York, to help. Most people don’t know that besides being an actor, Hill Harper is a world renowned relationship expert, having published books and done seminars on the subject. In short, he’s more qualified than Faux Dr. Tiy-E Muhammad any day.

The problem is that Hill Harper didn’t need to be on tonight’s episode. Why? Because Cynthia’s problem had a simple solution. Dump Peter. The guy was going off on her for being concerned about “his” business, which has Cynthia’s money at stake in it. He claimed that Cynthia doesn’t know what he’s going through, but won’t try to explain himself so she can understand. Instead, Peter opted to just cause an unnecessary ruckus, placing more stress on Cynthia than was needed at the moment. Peter needed to take his own advice about his whole spiel on “I” vs. “we,” because lately it’s been all about Peter.

As for Hill Harper? He gets the Most Random Moment of the Night Award, which he needs to take and run right back to the set of CSI: NY.

NeNe Towers Jermaine Dupri

Not much here, except NeNe making Jermaine Dupri look like an Oompa Loompa as she towered over him in height and body mass. Despite that freak show, NeNe got her first big interview after successfully breaking the wall Dupri had up at the beginning of their meeting.

So next week will finally feature this season’s big NeNe vs. Kim fight, which begs the question – have you placed your bets yet?

See you next week!
