The Five Best Timothee Chalamet Movies of His Career

Timothee Chalamet is one among many actors that seems as though he came out of nowhere, but in all honesty the guy has been around since the 90s. In many ways he’s the kind that seems soft-spoken and someone that be perceived as a bit less than masculine mostly for his build and fair features. But if you watch the young man on the screen you’ll find that he’s got a strength to him that belies his appearance and carries on into his acting in a way that is kind of impressive. Obviously he has no worries about what he’s doing apart from the normal jitters that might come to many actors when they’re on camera and need to remember their lines. Timothee is as professional as anyone he stars with and has had to stand in there with some rather big names so honestly, the guy is amazing.

Here are a few of his best movies.

5. Hostiles

This is a rather dim look at the relations between US soldiers and the Native Americans during a time when the hostilities were still in full swing and people had to wonder who was going to be attacked next if not why. Timothee gets to play the role of a soldier but doesn’t last all that long since his character gets killed off in an attack. The history of the US is definitely a bloody one with many casualties on both sides. No one can deny that the wrongdoings of those that came to this land were met with a great amount of force by the Native American tribes. But, as it’s been seen, history is often written by the victor.

4. Hot Summer Nights

It’s possible to get a little too ambitious since in the drug trade such a thing can get you rich, or get you killed, or both in short order. Daniel, who’s been sent to stay with his aunt for a while, soon meets up with the town bad boy and begins to sell marijuana while dating his sister, which Hunter expressly tells him not to do. When he decides to get into dealing cocaine however the local dealer wants Daniel dead, and he wants Hunter to do it. Instead, Hunter tells Daniel to run and never come back, while Dex kills hunter in front of his sister. When dealing with drugs it’s usually best to stay small or don’t do it at all.

3. Beautiful Boy

There are people out there like Nic that don’t know how else to admit that they have a very serious problem and that drugs are simply another way to fill the gaping hole inside them that they have no idea what to do with. When his father and mother try and try and try to help him stay straight they do their absolute best, but sometimes even that isn’t enough. The yawning black hole that exists in those that suffer this kind of depression is almost never filled even by the best of intentions since it is a very personal and intimate thing that an individual has to deal with on their own. Only through their own revelation and the constant love of those that stand by them can they really find a way out.

2. Lady Bird

Kyle almost feels like a phase in Lady Bird’s life largely because he says one thing and then denies that he ever said it at all. The fact that he claimed to be a virgin was one of the reasons why she wanted to lose her virginity to him in the first place, but then denying that he ever said it kind of creates a rift between them that’s not about to be healed. The movie is a coming of age story about a young woman that knows she wants something but not what it is or how to get it. There’s a horizon in her future but without a true north or even an idea of that that might be until near the end of the movie.

1. Call Me By Your Name

Life throws a lot of curveballs in each lifetime that comes around and sometimes the lobs that come our way help to define who we are and what we plan on doing with the results that come when we make that choice. Elio is a young man that has a lot going for him and yet obviously needed something else to experience that he hadn’t felt in his life at that point. How you react to this movie might say a lot about you, but a neutral to accepting stance is usually the best since there is a lot of emotion and honest feeling that goes into it that anyone should be able to pick up on.

Timothee is a very talented young man and it will be interesting to see how far he goes with his career.
