The Cast of Homeland in Their Former Roles

We all know and (mostly) love the cast of Homeland at this point (but if that girl picks at her sleeves one more time, I swear). But some of you might be curious to see the cast in some of their earlier roles.I’ve tried to pick out a few of their more major ones so you can see what they’ve looked like in the past on other programs. I’m tempted to say that Homeland is the biggest thing any of them have done, but a few Firefly fans might disagree for Ms. Baccarin. Check out the cast below:

Claire Danes (Carrie) in My So Called Life

When Claire Danes was cast in Homeland, I think many of us went “really, Claire Danes?” We remembered her best from Romeo + Juliet or My So Called Life back when she was an angsty it girl. My how times have changed.

Damian Lewis (Brody) in The Forsyte Saga

Most of us probably know Lewis from Band of Brothers, but I thought I’d show how dapper he looked in the period drama, The Forsyte Saga.

Dave Harewood (Estes) in Robin Hood

This isn’t Harewood’s oldest role, but I think it’s his most notable other than Homeland. He was the indomitable Friar Tuck in the new Robin hood adaptation.

Diego Klattenhoff (Mike) in Mean Girls

I’m sure a large number of you have seen Mean Girls, but did you know that Mike Faber was in it? I certainly didn’t until I started doing research for this article. I can’t believe this movie came out eight years ago.

Jamie Sheridan (Vice President Walden) in The Stand

Yes, that is indeed the VP, and here he’s playing Randall Flagg in Steven King’s The Stand miniseries. That hair is just the greatest thing I’ve ever seen.

Mandy Patinkin (Saul) in Chicago Hope

Wow, Saul was quite a catch a few years back huh? He had a prime role in Chicago Hope, and Patinkin has been in many, many shows and movies over the years.

Morena Baccarin (Jessica) in Firefly

Sci-fi fans will instantly recognize Morena Baccarin from her role in Joss Whedon’s beloved Firefly, where she played a classy space hooker. Sorry, space “companion.” I’m glad she’s moved on to equally fantastic things.
