The Best Uses of Twenty One Pilots Songs in Movies or TV

For all intents and purposes it sounds as though Twenty One Pilots had a core of four young men that started and made certain that the group would continue to push through by remaining involved with each other but allowing on the two that created the actual music to take the lion’s share of the credit. The other two were still a part of the production and managed the merchandise for a while and remained good friends. This seems like one heck of a business deal since it wouldn’t ruffle anyone’s feathers too much and it could possibly be a working relationship for as long as it was needed. Twenty One Pilots has been around for close to a decade now and has been building their reputation throughout that time until at this point they’ve become an act that a lot of people have become extremely enamored of.

Here are some of their songs that have been used in movies and TV.

5. Twenty One Pilots – Jumpsuit

As important as it is to see new bands rise as other bands continue to age one has to remember that for every group that makes it, about a hundred or more get left out in the cold to either perform in small dive bars or other such areas or to break up before they ever get a chance at the break they want. This group had a distinct advantage since the guys that started it remained in contact with one another and even decided to help out despite not being a part of the musical act any longer. That’s the kind of dedication and support that’s needed a lot of times and there are just too many bands that don’t receive that kind of help and could use it.

4. Saturday Night Live – Ride

SNL is kind of the proving ground as well as the way to know whether or not your act has been approved by a wide number of people. You’ll notice that the show doesn’t invite a lot of unknown Indie bands that haven’t done much in their time on the stage, choosing instead to hire known bands that have already managed to gain a following. It’s not an elitist thing to be honest, but it is good business for them since having someone that’s known on the stage keeps people watching and can actually get them excited to see the performers come on at some point in the show. Sometimes the musical act is anticipated more than the sketches.

3. Power Rangers – We Don’t Believe What’s On TV

The remakes have been coming fast and furious for the past decade and a lot of people are probably starting to feel the hangover from the effort since like a few other movies that have been dredged up from the deep, Power Rangers kind of fell short of the mark. It’s entertaining and the effects are pretty well done but the whole story seems like it barely showed the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the Rangers while at the same time kind of condensing the whole thing into one movie that could have easily been stretched out to three or more in all honesty. There’s no official word if another one is coming any time soon, but hopefully if it does it will continue the saga rather than be another reboot.

2. Supergirl – Stressed Out

One thing about the comics and the live action representations is that things do get mixed up occasionally. It’s interesting to note that Supergirl is supposed to be slightly older than Superman, is actually more efficient with her powers, and in some ways is even better than Superman. But throughout the years it’s been seen that, at least in film, Superman has been far superior in many ways. Perhaps if a Supergirl film ever comes out, and it seems as though it could help the DCEU a lot, things would get straightened out and we’d have a superhero that might be worth watching for more than one movie.

1. Suicide Squad – Heathens

You can give this movie a few props at least since Harley Quinn was just awesome, the soundtrack was great, and the special effects weren’t all that bad. Obviously the film didn’t pull everything from the comics since it would have otherwise looked quite different, but the DCEU is doing what they can with what they have. Most people should be able to admit that Harley Quinn was the main attraction of this film and the Joker was kind of a close second since a lot of people wanted to see what Jared Leto could do that Jack Nicholson and Heath Ledger hadn’t already covered. On that note a lot of fans were kind of left wanting, but if there’s ever another film it could be that it’ll be looking to knock our socks off.

Twenty One Pilots are a group that still has a lot left to give, so it will be interesting to see how they progress as the years roll on.
