Stephen Colbert Asks Cartoon Donald Trump How He Plans to Win Over Bernie Sanders Supporters

Stephen Colbert

As Stephen Colbert points out pretty regularly on The Late Show, the 2016 election has become incredibly ridiculous. Just yesterday, the Republican and Democratic presidential nominees, Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, got into a fight on Twitter. Everything has become so crazy in politics that it’s like we’re all watching a live-action cartoon, which is why Colbert had his famous guest, Cartoon Donald Trump, on last night to explain his campaign strategy moving forward.

For Cartoon Trump, his main goal is to appeal to Bernie Sanders supporters who now don’t have anyone in the race to root for. Despite the fact that Trump and Sanders’ political ideologies could not be anymore different, he still believes that he has a chance to win these people over and get them to vote for him instead of Hillary Clinton, promising that his “arms are wide open” for all the Bernie voters that want to join his supporters.

“But you and Bernie have absolute nothing in common,” Colbert said to him. “He’s a socialist.”

“Me too,” Cartoon Trump said. “I mean, my daughter’s a socialite. I go to all the social functions. We’re total socialists. Come on.”
