Yesterday we brought you a pretty awesome video that gave Star Wars: The Last Jedi trailer the 8-bit treatment. Today we’re still stuck in the 80s but even further back into the 80s. Today we’re going to take you back to 1983. This is a time when movie trailers weren’t nearly as hyped as they are today. A time when digital and special effects didn’t nearly have as prevalent a role as today. And let’s not forget, this is a time when there were no smartphones, no internet, and I’m pretty sure that electricity wasn’t invented yet (just making sure you’re still with me).
But what if the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi came out that year? Can you imagine what it would be like with all the narrating from those movie trailer narrator guys? What would the music be like? Exactly how grainy would the video quality be? It’s a good thing we no longer have to ask those questions because the team at Screencrush put together this excellent video showing exactly what it would look like if the movie had come out in 1983.
