The long-awaited Sistas season 7 premiered on January 3, 2024. For many of its audiences, it was a great way to usher into the new year, especially with several cliffhangers season 6 ended with. With a growing fanbase, Sistas season 7 began with another amazing review from critics and audiences.
The Tyler Perry-created comedy-drama has had a good run since its October 23, 2019 premiere. Sistas is Perry’s tenth created show on television. For audiences who have dedicatedly followed the series, here’s everything to know about Sistas season 7 before getting started.
Where Sistas Season 6 Left Off
Sistas season 6 also centered around the show’s premise, focusing on the lives of a group of African-American, independent women. It revolves around how they help each other navigate relationships, life, and jobs. Like every season before it, Sistas season 6 had its fair share of drama, near-deaths, and why-is-Gary-still-breathing moments. Besides losing his job, Maurice Webb mistakenly shoots Que in an argument. While things look up for Sabrina, having been reinstated at the bank, Maurice is forced to start a sex business as a dominatrix.
Zac Taylor still has baby mama issues to deal with. He overheard his son’s screams while talking with Heather’s neighbor. Things escalate when Zac gets into a fight with the gangster babysitter, with Fatima having to shoot her gun to de-escalate the situation. Against Fatima’s judgment, Zac goes to offer Heather $100,000 and discovers she tied up his son in the bathroom. Andrea “Andi” Barnes gets back in the dating game with a dating app. Things go well until she gets the shocking connection he (Jordan Williams) has with Gary Marshall Borders.
In season 6, a new character, Penelope Williams, was added. Not only is she Jordan’s sister, but she’s Gary’s pregnant Fiancé of three years. While Gary tries to salvage the relationship with Penelope, he throws Andi under the bus, stating, “This woman is a side piece.” With every other character dealing with one personal drama, Tamara tries to get him to sign the divorce papers, revealing she wants half of Hayden Moss’ property.

Also, Angela Beyincé, who plays Pamela “Pam” Malbrough, Karen’s hair salon assistant, gets more screen time as a regular. With her intentions revealed, Tamara (played by Joi Symone) is upgraded to a series regular in Sistas season 7.
