‘The Secret Life of Pets‘ is a computer-animated comedy film that was released in 2016. It was directed by Chris Renaud and written by Briain Lynch, Cinco Paul, and Ken Daurio. It takes a comical look at what pets get up to when their owners are not at home and follows the adventures of a terrier called Max. It was the sixth highest-grossing movie of 2016 as it grossed $875.5 million against a budget of $75 million. Here is what the cast of ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ are up to today?
Louis C.K.
Louis C.K. provides the voice for Max, a Jack Russell Terrier, and the protagonist of the film. Prior to this film, Louis C.K. had a successful career in the entertainment industry as an actor, a comedian, a director, and a producer. Sadly, his career took a downward spiral thereafter. Following ‘The Secret Life of Pets’, he developed a series with Pamela Anderson called ‘Better Things’. He then worked on a film called ‘I Love You, Daddy’. Unfortunately, just as this film was about to be released, five women came forward making sexual harassment allegations against him dating back to 2005. His career has been at a standstill since.

Eric Stonestreet voices Duke, the big shaggy mongrel who is adopted by Max’s owner, Katie. Stonestreet has not appeared in any more feature films since he voiced Duke in ‘The Secret Life of Pets’. However, he was in the television ‘Confirmation’ in 2016 and then appeared as himself in an episode of ‘The F Word’ the following year. Since 2017, he has been hosting ‘The Toy Box’.
Kevin Hart
Snowball, the white rabbit, is voiced by Kevin Hart. This character is the enemy who turns good later in the film. In the same year as ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ was released, Hart was also in ‘Ride Along 2′, ‘Central Intelligence’ and ‘Kevin Hart: What Happens Next’. The latter of these was his stand-up film. In 2017, he was the voice of George Beard in ‘Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie‘ and had roles in ‘The Upside’ and ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’. His latest role is playing Teddy Walker in ‘Night School’.
Jenny Slate
Jenny Slate is the voice of Gidget, an enthusiastic white Pomeranian who is also Max’s love interest. The year after ‘The Secret Life of Pets’ was released, Jenny Slate had acting roles in ‘Landline’, ‘The Polka King’, ‘Gifted’, and ‘Aardvark’. She also provided the voice of Harley Quinn in ‘The Lego Batman Movie‘ and the voice of Valerie Da Vinci in ‘Despicable Me: 3′. In 2018, she is in ‘Hotel Artemis’ and is providing the voice for Dr. Dora Smith in ‘Venom’. She also has her next project lined up for 2019 as she is the voice of Mitzi in ‘The Ark and the Aardvark’.

Ellie Kemper provided the voice of Katie, who is the owner of Max and Duke in the film. She has since had voice roles in two more films in 2017; ‘The Lego Batman Movie’ and ‘Smurfs: The Lost Village’. She has also appeared in episodes of several television shows.
