Tracy Spiridakos had a pretty simple beginning on the show Supernatural. She was there for a single episode before moving on, and from that point forward she became a very busy lady. Since 2007 she’s been featured in one show or another and has even managed to find her way into a few movies. TV however has always been the point to which she returns as it seems to be where she shines the most and is allowed to fully extend her character. The frequency with which she’s appeared on television has been great enough that fans have likely been able to follow her fairly easily, but there might be a few that only know her from certain shows considering that a lot of the shows she’s been have only used her for one to several episodes.
It’s enough to get her noticed but not quite so many as to get her name out there and get people talking. Plus, with TV you have to be the ardent kind of fan that really follows the programs and the news about them to really track an actor. Movies tend to create a lot more buzz unless the TV program in question is one that has been considered an epic since day one. Otherwise it’s easy to miss out on who stars in what show.
But to give her the kind of credit she deserves Tracy has been moving up the ranks as she’s gone along. Here’s just a glimpse of the evolution she’s experienced during her career.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes
A lot of people were disappointed by the remake of the Planet of the Apes, but this new series that led into the end of the world at the hands of the apes was something different and a great deal more detailed, allowing for a greater sense of enjoyment for the audience. For Tracy it was a small role that saw her entering the ape containment unit with the two male characters that had brought them there to show the place off. There wasn’t much exposure her, but it was enough to see that she was there. Of course given the content of the movie it was tough to really take note of her part since there was so much going on.
Being Human
She was only on this show for four episodes, but it was enough to take note of her. The whole premise of the show was a bit disturbing as it involves the idea of AI growing independent and apart from humanity in a way that is simply too terrifying to think about. The show also brings up a very big issue with morality and ethics that many people likely missed since they were more involved win the dramatic part of the program.
Bates Motel
On a show like this you can imagine that a lot of people didn’t last too long unless they had a bigger part to play in the story. The making of Norman Bates is a tale that a lot of people had been hoping and waiting on for a long time, and it seems that a lot of them weren’t disappointed when it finally came along. You’ve really got to wonder what would shape a man like Norman Bates, but then the show did this for us, didn’t it? That doesn’t make it any less disturbing, but watching him go through the process of becoming the man he was destined to be is something else.
Chicago PD
She came in as a replacement on this show, but seems to be a good fit since she can get into the role and convince people that she belongs there. It’s not too hard to imagine what the show is about, but people definitely seem to like crime shows that depict officers and detectives that are out to get the criminals and deal with moral conundrums at the same time. Something about these shows draws people in, and a big part of it is the drama and the action that seem to play off of one another in a way that keeps people interested. At this point this is where Tracy has ended up and at this time she’s been seen as a regular for the time being.
Her road towards Chicago PD has been a rather long one it seems but she’s stayed busy almost the entire way, never really slacking off as she continued to climb the ranks, seeking out one part after another to help define her career. Hopefully this will remain a good fit for a while, but it’s always possible that she’ll move on and find another role to fill in the future to come. That’s the life of an actor after all, traversing the long road of a career and picking up what you can along the way.
