While the main news around Paula Patton right now are her allegations of domestic abuse against ex Robin Thicke, we’ve recently learned that Patton has signed on to star in a new summer series for ABC. Somewhere Between has officially received a 10 episode order and will air in the summer of 2017. The show is said to be a thriller drama with a supernatural kind of a twist. According to Deadline the show is:
Written by Legend Of The Seeker and Taxi Brooklyn co-creator Stephen Tolkin based on a Korean format, Somewhere Between centers on superstar news producer and fiercely loving mom Laura Price (Patton). She isn’t crazy: She knows her daughter Serena is going to be murdered. She doesn’t know who the murderer is or why she’ll be killed, but she knows exactly when it will happen, where and how. Despite this, all of her attempts to keep her daughter safe fail, and Serena’s fixed, unmovable, terrifying fate keeps her directly in the path of her killer.
This actually marks a return to ABC for Patton who two years ago was the lead in a pilot called Runner. It seems fitting that Patton is playing a strong mother who is trying to keep her daughter safe. Could this have anything to do with her relationship to Robin Thicke? Only time will tell in terms of how these allegations will go down and if and when Robin Thicke might face any consequences.
However, one thing we can say is that we’re glad that Patton will be back on television.
