I’m pretty sure that Oprah Winfrey isn’t the first celebrity who is thinking to themselves, “if Donald Trump can do it, then so can I.” I’ve already said that a Jon Stewart/Stephen Colbert ticket in 2020 would have a legitimate chance to win. But it seems that Oprah’s the first person to actually admit on live television that she could be the next President of the United States.
Yesterday she appeared on Bloomberg’s “The David Rubenstein Show” and it turns out Trump’s first 5 weeks in office have been very inspiring to her, but not in the good way.
They’ve inspired her to reconsider her own political aspirations. Rubenstein point blank said to her, “you could actually run for President and actually be elected.” The crowd went into applause and Oprah then said with an initial pause “I never even considered the question even a possibility. I just thought, Oh, Oh. Oh gee I don’t have the experience, I don’t know enough and now I’m thinking….Oh.”
She just kept saying “Oh,” clearly referring to Trump having no experience and currently sitting in the White House. At the very least, she’s taking a clear jab at Trump. Let’s hope she’s not just messing with her fans and actually makes a run at this thing. Here’s Oprah below:
