At first, it appeared that the drama Baywatch was going to drown on network television when it was cancelled by NBC after one season in 1990. The show’s creators thought the show still had potential of building an audience and sold it into syndication a year later in 1991. The series ended up becoming one of the most popular shows in the 1990’s and started the careers of Pamela Anderson, Alexandra Paul, and many others. So what has the cast been up since the series sailed off the air in 2001? Here is a look at what your favorite red bathing suit wearing lifeguards have been doing for the last decade.
David Hasselhoff as Mitch Buchannon
David “The Hoff” Hasselhoff has kept himself pretty busy since his days of saving lives on the beaches of California on Baywatch. The actor appeared in over 220 episodes of the series between 1989 and 2000. Since the show ended, Hasselhoff has appeared in countless movies and television shows. In 2004, he played the German Coach in the Vince Vaughn comedy Dodgeball and reprised his role as Dr. William “Snapper” Foster in 2010 on the soap opera The Young and the Restless. He has even appeared as himself on The SpongeBob Square Pants Movie and Hop. He was also a judge on America’s Got Talent from 2006 to 2009. The 62-year-old is working on a comedy called Killing Hasselhoff that is due out in 2015.
Pamela Anderson as C.J. Parker
Pamela Anderson was a fan favorite when she starred on Baywatch from 1992-1997 as the very beautiful lifeguard C.J. Parker. The 47-year-old actress has had quite the successful career after turning in her swim trunks at the conclusion of the show’s seventh season. That same year Anderson reprised her role as Lisa on Home Improvement and the following year starred on her own show called V.I.P. The series would last for 4 seasons. It was even nominated for an Emmy award for the Theme Music used in the opening credits. She has also starred in the short lived series Stacked and has made several appearance on the comedy Package Deal. She is currently filming the mystery movie The People Garden that is due out in 2015 and is about a woman searching for her musician boyfriend in Japan.
Alexandra Paul as Stephanie Holden
Alexandra Paul played Stephanie Holden for five season of Baywatch from 1992 to 1997 until the character was killed off during a storm. Since her departure from the series, Paul has appeared in countless television movies including Arthur’s Quest, Green Sails, Rough Air: Danger on Flight 534, The Boy She Met Online, and Love at the Christmas Table. In 1999, the actress made 8 appearance on the night-time soap Melrose Place. She has also appeared on She Spies and Mad Men. Next year, the 52-year-old actress will appear in the thriller movie Dirty.
Yasmine Bleeth as Caroline Holden
It appears that 1997 was the year the most of the memorable actors on Baywatch jumped ship and moved on to different projects. That was the year that Yasmine Bleeth left the series. During the show’s eighth season, the actress only appeared occasionally until she finally left the drama for good during the 11th episode. Since the show ended, she played Caitlin Cross for two seasons of Nash Bridges and appeared in the movies BASEketball, Heaven or Vegas, and Undercover Angel. In 2000, she starred in the short-lived NBC drama Titans. Her last on screen appearance was the Baywatch reunion movie Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding in 2003.
Nicole Eggert as Summer Quinn
Nicole Eggert went from being babysat by Scott Baio on Charles in Charge to saving lives on Baywatch from 1992 to 1994. After she left the series, she made several guest star appearance on such shows as Married with Children, Clueless, Boy Meets World, Gilmore Girls, and The Big Easy. Her more recent claim to fame is starring in several reality type programs including Celebrity Fit Club and Splash. This year she provided her voice to a pup named Gabrielle in the movie The Dog Who Saved Easter.
David Charvet as Matt Brody
David Charvet was quite the lucky man when he starred on Baywatch from 1992 to 1996. His character dated both Nicole Eggert’s character and Pamela Anderson’s character. After Charvet left the series, he moved over to Melrose Place and played Craig Field for two seasons from 1996 to 1998. Since then, the actor has not appeared in many projects. In 2010, he starred in the made for television movie The Perfect Teacher and appeared in the 2013 horror film Prisoners of the Sun
David Chokachi as Cody Madison
David Chokachi patrolled the beaches of California on Baywatch for four seasons from 1995 to 1999. After his departure, the actor appeared in the television movie Witchblade in 2000 and also the short lived television series of the same name that ran for two seasons. In 2006, he began starring in the drama Beyond the Break that remained on the air for three seasons. He has four projects that are scheduled to be coming out in 2015. One of them is the reality television series called The Reel Deal, which will pair celebrities with up and coming directors and writers and have them create short films in just a few days.
Gena Lee Nolin as Neely Capshaw
Gena Lee Nolin played bad girl Neely Capshaw for three seasons of Baywatch from 1995 to 1998. In her final appearance on the series, she weds Mitch Buchannon aboard a cruise ship. Nolin was the second actress to play Neely. The first was played by Heather Campbell during season five. When Nolin left the series at the conclusion of the 8th season, the character was then played by Jennifer Campbell. In 2000, Nolin played the title character in the action adventure series Sheena. The show would last for only two seasons. Her last on screen television appearance was in Baywatch: Hawaiian Wedding. However, she did appear on an episode of Celebrity Ghost Stories in 2010 and was recently seen on an episode of Hell’s Kitchen earlier this year.
