How The Empire Was Able to Fund The Death Star:  Taxes

Ever wonder how expensive the Death Star actually is?  I mean, seriously, think about it.   There have been numerous calculations on it but it’s estimated to be somewhere in the neighborhood of $850,000,000,000,000,000.  That’s 850 quadrillion dollars by the way.   While it might not be the first thing on your mind, you might be wondering “how in the world can The Empire afford something like that?  Well, I’m glad you asked.

The team at Russell Smith Chartered Accountants actually took the time to figure out just how The Empire can afford such an expensive project.  It begins and ends with taxes.   Here’s what they came up with:

We all know the Death Star was ruled with an iron fist, but how did it come to be in the first place? You guessed it: taxes!
