Mindhunter Season 1 Has a Soundtrack Worth Mentioning

Mindhunter is a show on Netflix, one of their original options. While the show has received some decent comments about its overall content, one of the things that seems to have been completely overlooked is the amazing soundtrack that goes with it. This happens sometimes, and it’s important that attention be called to these types of incidents when they occur. It’s not really all that often anymore that soundtracks are even worth listening to. Several years ago, the soundtrack to a particular project was almost as important as the project itself. This harkens back to those days when the music that accompanied a movie or television show helped to create the feel of the project itself. In fact, there are several notable names involved with the soundtrack for Mindhunter.

Songs that you might realize include Peter Frampton’s Do You Feel Like We Do. Obviously, with people like Peter Frampton involved, producers involved with the show are trying to pack a punch with the soundtrack, making it almost as important as the script itself. Unfortunately, it seems like their plans backfired because for the most part, everyone seems to be ignoring the fact that the soundtrack even exists. Those that haven’t realized it don’t know what they’re missing out on. It’s really one of the best put-together soundtracks that has come along in quite some time.

Some of the other songs on the soundtrack include I’m Not In Love from 10cc and Old & Gray by Zach Gray. This is just a small sampling of the types of songs that you can expect to hear on the Mindhunter soundtrack. There are several more options available, all of them just as good as the next.

If you think back to some of the major motion pictures that were made during the late 1970s and early 1980s, you probably remember how people were just as interested in getting their hands on the soundtrack as they were in seeing the movie. Netflix is trying to revive that type of excitement by creating extraordinary soundtracks to go with its original series. It did that with Stranger Things and it’s doing it with Mindhunter. When this type of marketing gimmick works, it works exceptionally well. People get excited about whatever it is they’re watching and then they get excited all over again when they have the chance to listen to the music.

For some strange reason, it didn’t really seem to work in this particular case. Despite the fact that the series has an outstanding soundtrack with plenty of talent to go around, it’s been largely ignored. It’s difficult to understand why this happens in some cases, but it’s sort of the same issue that certain actors have when they’re on a television show. Sometimes, one of the stars breaks out and gets all the attention and others are sort of left in their wake, through no fault of their own. It doesn’t have anything to do with a lack of talent oR ability, it just happens. Sometimes, the same thing happens when it comes to the musical soundtracks that accompany certain projects.

It’s unfortunate that it did happen in this case and hopefully, more people will start to take notice of the soundtrack because it definitely deserves the attention of anyone who takes the time to listen to it.
