You know Michael Smerconish from his hosting duties on the SiriusXM wavelength, and we aren’t surprised. This is a man who has done a bit of everything in his life. He’s been an attorney, a talk show host, a newspaper columnist, and so much more. There’s not much he’s not done, which probably would have been a bit quicker to list. He’s the host of the “Michael Smerconish Program” on the POTUS channel, and he’s proud of the work he does. But, people don’t bother to get to know him more than what they hear, so we thought we might rectify that situation for you.
1. He’s from Pennsylvania
He was born and raised in Doylestown. He grew up there with his mother and his father, and his father actually had a career in politics at some point in his son’s life. He went to school here, graduated high school, and took an interest in his own future all while growing up in his lifelong community.
2. He Is a 60s Child
Michael Smerconish was born in the 60s. He’s got some memories of growing up in some of the coolest decades. His date of birth is March 15, 1962. He might not have much memory of the 60s as a whole, but he probably has a lot of fun memories of the 70s and 80s when life was much simpler for kids and families.
3. He’s A College Grad
When he finished his high school education, he immediately went on to college as so many kids did in those days. There were fewer gap years and time off and business building years, and he took full advantage of his college admissions. He went to Lehigh University, where he graduated with a BA. He then attended the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he obtained his JD.
4. He’s Well-Versed in Politics
His family was Republican growing up, and he was around to help his father with his political run in the 80s. His father made the decision to run for the Pennsylvania State Legislature, but it was an unsuccessful run. He was able to meet some really powerful politicians, including the likes of both Ronald Reagan and G.H.W. Bush.
5. He’s Changed His Political Parties
Much like his Republican parents, he grew up with very conservative beliefs. However, he made the decision to change his political party sometime around 2010. He is not a registered independent voter, which means he could go either way in the election in terms of his voting choices.
6. He’s Married
We don’t know a lot about his wife. However, her name is Lavinia Nardini, and we can’t help but think that her first name is quite lovely. She is not a famous figure, she’s not someone who is in the spotlight, and they do a wonderful job of keeping their private life to themselves, which is such an admirable trait. However, we do know she’s a veteran real estate agent, and she doesn’t really talk much about her personal life.
7. He’s a Dad and Stepfather
We don’t know a lot about his wife because she likes to keep it private, as we mentioned before, but we do know that she has a daughter from a previous relationship, as well as three sons together. Her name is Caitlin, and she got married in 2019 to her longtime best friend and love. Her wedding was held at her parent’s home in New Hope, and it was beautifully done.
8. He’s Not Always Aware of His Wife’s Dealings
We mentioned earlier that his wife is good at what she does, and that she’s even better about keeping her private life private. There was a time when she sold a home to a former law partner of his, and he didn’t even know that she did that. He came to their table after sending a bottle of wine to them, he thought it was because of him, but the old law partner came over to thank his wife for her work making sure that their real estate transaction was as seamless and smooth as possible.
9. He’s Close to His Father
There’s one thing that he can say about himself, and that is that he is close to his father. He’s always been a family man, and it’s obvioius to us by how much time he seems to spend with his dad, his wife, and their kids. There is a lot that they have to make time for, but family is always at the top of that priority list.
10. He’s a Charitable Man
When he’s not working and spending time with his family, he’s helping out the kids who need him the most. He’s a man who spends time working with the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center. It’s an important charity to him, and he always makes the time to help them out when they ask.
