Melissa McCarthy Sings “Colors of the Wind” in Lip Sync Battle With Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show

Melissa McCarthy

Melissa McCarthy was guest last night on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote her new film, The Boss, which hits theaters on Friday, and a boss is exactly what McCarthy proved to be when she and Fallon went up against each other in a Lip Sync Battle later on during the show. While both of them surprised audiences with the songs they chose and performed the hell out of them, it was clear from McCarthy’s first number that she would be the winner, and she most definitely was.

So which songs did Jimmy Fallon and Melissa McCarthy pick for their Lip Sync Battle last night? Fallon kicked things off with a very funny performance of the 1971 song “Brand New Key” by Melanie, which involved him pretending to roller skate on the Tonight Show floor. He then followed that up with a quite literal take on “Pillotwalk” by ZAYN, which featured an actual pillow that Fallon talked and sang to.

However, McCarthy brought out the big guns for both of her performances, starting with an incredibly energetic rendition of DMX’s “X Gonna Give It to Ya.” But McCarthy channeling her inner DMX was nothing compared to her second song. The Spy actress chose “Colors of the Wind” from Pocahontas, and she utilized every effect imaginable, having a wind machine blowing, as people tossed stuffed animals, confetti, and glitter at her.
