“The Magic School Bus” is Coming Back with Kate McKinnon on Netflix

Kate McKinnon

At one time or another everyone wanted to go on the Magic School Bus. It should be a great thing then to remember because the titular vehicle will be coming back in September to Netflix along with its new star, SNL’s Kate McKinnon. She’ll be taking on the role of the always quirky Ms. Frizzle and should definitely be up to the task considering how much she’s done to this point and the fact that she is a very funny and engaging woman.

McKinnon is well known for her time spent Saturday Night Live and her several movie roles that have seen her go as wild and crazy as she’s been allowed. She is also astute at emulating different accents and using wacky voices so she’ll be just perfect as Ms. Frizzle. The role was originally voiced by Lily Tomlin back in the 1990’s when it became so very popular, and it’s safe to think that McKinnon will give the part just as much respect as she’s shown to other roles that she’s undertaken.

Millennials will no doubt remember the Magic School Bus since a lot of them were growing up around this time and were likely to have caught this show a time or two. It was also just as likely that you wished you could own a bus like that or find some way to go on the many different adventures that Ms. Frizzle took the kids. This time around shouldn’t be much different considering that it is a revival and not a reboot. The show will have the same premise and plot for the most part but there will also be a lot more possible content since the technology and the capability of the CGI that will be used for the show will manage to give it more depth and a lot more realism that can be used to great effect.

Some of the adventures that the original show went on were a bit odd to say the least and will probably be revisited but hopefully in an equally tasteful manner. For instance, the trip during the intestines was one that was interesting but was handled in a very appropriate manner.

The Magic School Bus Rides Again is bound to be an amusing show that parents and children can watch together. The kids will watch for the magical feelings that it will grant and the parents will no doubt want to watch just to remember back to the days when they were kids and still dreamed about going on a ride of their very own. It’s a nostalgic trip back in time with Kate McKinnon, a fellow millennial, at the wheel, so to speak, of this enchanting show.

So far the expectations are that the response towards the show will be overwhelmingly positive since it is an educational show for kids that is geared towards having fun while learning about the surrounding world in many different ways. It should be something that most people can find fun and entertaining.
