We have been waiting for this since mid-season two (if I remember correctly). The take-down of the terrorist group Hizb-Al-Shahid and their leader Jibral Disah. The last we saw (or heard) of Disah, was when one of the burner phones was activated, thus letting Murphy Station know of his whereabouts. In this upcoming episode of Madam Secretary, the United States debate on whether or not to enact a render-safe mission to secure nuclear weapons that belonged to the Pakistani government before it collapses from the events of the previous episode. Meanwhile, the Murphy Station team pursues Disah, only to be ambushed by his goons (from what I can gather from the promo clip below).
Elizabeth also finally managed to get in touch with Henry, as seen in the promo clip, after not being able to reach him in the previous episode. She told her husband not to die on her as he goes to take down Disah because she loves him very much. Henry told her not to worry and that he and the rest of the Murphy Station team know what they’re doing. When Blake came into her office later in the clip, telling her that there’s still no word on Henry, the Secretary of State looked like her world has turned upside down. Of course, we all know that Henry is not going to die. He might have another near-death experience much like the one from the dirty bomb at the education conference, but other than that, he’ll live to see another day. I would hate it if the writers killed Henry off.
With only one episode left before the second season finale, it’s clear that the show wants to end the second season with a shocking cliff-hanger like all the other shows have been doing. Or maybe they might go with something equally surprising (sans cliff-hanger) like The Flash and Lucifer had done to keep viewers in suspense until the third season airs. I have a feeling that it might lean towards the former, but I guess we’ll just have to wait and see which type of ending the writers have in store.
