Knicks Fans Can’t Be Happy about This Deleted Tweet by Kristaps Porzingis

I’m a Knicks fan and I admit the tweet that Kristaps Porzingis sent out last night was a little disconcerting.  It was deleted very quickly after it was posted but it’s got me and other faithful NY fans quite worried.   KP tweeted out nothing other than the name “LA Clippers” along with three smiley faces.   It could mean a gazillion things but given KP skipping his exit interview with Phil Jackson and obvious displeasure with the franchise, many are speculating that the Latvian big fella could be either headed to or wishing he was headed out west to join Chris Paul.

The old school fan in me says, “come on dude, where’s the loyalty?”  But the realistic fan in me says, “can you blame this guy for wanting no part of James Dolan and what appears to be a completely broken man in Phil Jackson?”  I think that fans sometimes forget that while it’s a sport, basketball is also a profession.  When a player wants green pastures on another team it’s no different than you or I wanting a new job.

It’s hard to blame KP for feeling this way and wanting to be with an organization that he likes working for.   At the same time, he’s only 2 years in and I really don’t want to see this kid get a massive ego and start demanding things from his employer.  When you’re 7’3 injuries happen quite easily and he better watch what he says in the not too distant future.
