The Kevin Owens WWE DVD: Why It’s a Must Watch

He’s proven that he’s an awesome heel in the WWE and before that he’s proven that he’s one of the best guys on the roster. Having been exposed to the WWE at the age of eleven he had his course set and locked at an early age. Only five years after deciding what he wanted to do Kevin had already had his first match. From there he didn’t stop, working his way up the independent circuit where he would eventually meet his best friend Sami Zayn. Despite not having the look of the other wrestlers Kevin definitely had the talent and the ability to go after what he wanted no matter what people told him.

It’s that kind of attitude that’s an inspiration to future wrestlers and a reason why Kevin Owens’ story is worth a look. Here are a few other reasons you might want to take a better look.

Despite being a heel in the ring he’s an absolute teddy bear away from the cameras.

Owens has a great time at what he does and he plays the part of the bad guy perfectly. He knows how to get the crowd against him and feeds off of it continually. But when the curtain falls and he goes to the back he’s just one of the guys. He’s especially gentle at heart when he’s around his family, who regard him as one of the greatest dads and husbands ever.

John Cena made the push for Kevin Owens to feud with him.

It seemed like it came out of left field that Owens would pick the C-Nation leader to feud with, but in reality McMahon didn’t have a lot of faith in Owens it seemed. He wasn’t the type that was usually seen on the WWE roster, meaning that he wasn’t heavily muscled or apparently in that good shape. But it was John Cena that wanted this feud, and it turned out to be good television for a while.

Despite the cheap win, Triple H handing the Universal title to Kevin Owens was a sign of respect.

To that point he’d been on a roll and had impressed a lot of people with his stellar work ethic, his skill set, and his ability to get the crowd to react to him. But during an episode of RAW when Owens was fighting for the championship Triple H appeared and kicked Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins to the curb. He then handed the Universal title to Owens. It was a moment that many disliked, but it was the CO’s way of telling Owens that he was impressed, and that his stock in the company had just risen a great deal.

He’s an avid student of the industry.

Behind the scenes Kevin has been speaking to the likes of The Rock, Hulk Hogan, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and many more that have given him hints and advice on how to improve his game. Stone Cold actually gave him one of the best pieces of advice that he still uses to this day, and that was “just keep running your mouth”.

Kevin Owens’ story is an inspiration for sure and a roadmap for upcoming wrestlers to at least consider.
