A lot of people don’t want to wait for their turn in the spotlight though some of them hang back just to get a little more experience so that they don’t flop horribly. Kenny Wormald was on his way to Los Angeles right out of high school, determined to make his way into the business and show people that his talent was real and that he could tear it up. He’s done that for the most part since he’s been in a number of projects and even been on stage a few times with some notable stars. The push he needs might be just around the corner, but he does possess a lot of skill and a lot of raw ability that just needs the right venue to really kick his career into high gear. He’s one of the moderately young actors out there that still has a lot to offer and should be given the chance to show that he can create something intriguing as well as innovative.
Here are a few things you might not have known about him.
10. He started taking dance lessons at age 6.
His mother put him into dance lessons when she saw him dancing, no doubt figuring that it would be a good idea to get him into something that kept him active and that he actually seemed to like. Putting kids into activities is a good first step, but making sure they like them is important as well.
9. He was inspired to dance after watching a New Kids on the Block video.
Some of you might laugh but New Kids were extremely popular back in the day and had a fanbase that was actually pretty impressive. They faded out like a lot of boy bands did but not before they inspired a lot of people to make their way into the business or at least give it a shot.
8. He was in the more recent version of Footloose.
A town that doesn’t allow dancing or music aside from what’s heard in church sounds awfully boring, so it’s no wonder their kids rebel whenever they can. This movie didn’t get as much love a the first one has over the years, but it could be that a lot folks are getting tired of remakes and reboots.
7. He dated one of the Pussycat Dolls for three years.
A lot of single guys would probably whoop and holler that this is a great accomplishment all on its own but in truth in Hollywood they date one another and then break up for various reasons all the time just like anyone else. It’s not always a conquest that people have in mind.
6. He’s performed with Justin Timberlake before.
This would be a huge feather in anyone’s cap since Justin Timberlake is one of THE premier entertainers of the past decade and has been on fire with his career for a long, long time now. In fact it’s safe to say that he’s made a number of careers in his own way.
5. He’s a big believer in following your dreams.
There’s a moment in life when someone might tell you to give up on a dream since it sounds impossible, but that’s the moment that a lot of people will stand up either out of spite or because they truly believe and will go and seek that impossible horizon. No one gets to tell you what you can and can’t do.
4. He revels in being different.
When you look at it from a very real perspective we’re all different. Unfortunately a lot of folks allow differences to divide them from someone rather than unite them simply because we choose to be different from the next person. Being different is a badge of honor in this day and age, and should be applauded more often than not.
3. He’s been in a few episodes of Fear the Walking Dead.
He was in four episodes before his character arc was deemed over and he’d served his purpose. The fact that he and his buddy killed Travis’ son in cold blood didn’t help much since Travis went a little berserk and killed them both in a rage.
2. He’s 34 years old.
Some folks just don’t seem to age that much as they start to advance in years. This guy doesn’t look like his past his late 20s, much less in his 30s. But that could be what staying in shape and healthy living does for you.
1. He was a dancer in You Got Served.
It’s kind of hard to say where he was at in this film but he was one of the dancers and this clip was just too cool to pass on. This entire movie was just one big dance off with some drama thrown in to make it seem a little more serious. Honestly though, some of these moves were just insane.
