10 Things You Didn’t Know about Jake McDorman

10 Things You Didn’t Know about Jake McDorman

You know those guys that just seem to luck out and get it all, the looks, the fame, and the fortune? Well, Jake McDorman could easily qualify for that kind of life but the upside is that he’s a pretty friendly guy that seems to know what he has and isn’t all that shy about admitting that he’s been very fortunate in his life. Sure he’s got the kind of life that a lot of people would envy but so long as anyone in that position remembers how tenuous it could be and that they have to keep at it that seems to be enough to sober them up from time to time. Plus he does seem like a very chill person that’s doing the best he can to maintain a career that’s been growing steadily throughout the years and has seen him gain a few very influential roles. Yes it’s easy to be jealous of folks like this but it’s just as easy to be entertained and kind of let those feelings go by the wayside.

Here are a few things about him you might not have known.

10. He was in Bring It On: All or Nothing.

He got to play the jerk boyfriend that was on the football team and was the prom king and so on and so forth and yes, he did play a massive jerk. In short he was such a jerk that when his girlfriend had to transfer to another school he was already hooking up with her supposed ‘friend’ and the new head cheerleader.

9. He has a modest following on social media.

His following isn’t the biggest but it isn’t the smallest either. He’s got enough followers on his accounts that he’s obviously a person of interest but not quite the megastar that would top into the millions of people that would want to know what’s going on with him. That seems kind of balanced honestly.

8. He was in American Sniper.

Some people loved this movie and others had a serious issue with it largely because many movies that go into actual history such as this tend to leave some things out and add other things that weren’t there to start with.

7. He started acting in 1999.

It’s hard to believe he’s been around for almost two decades since he looks so young. Honestly he’s not that old as he’s only in his 30s and thus has a lot of time to keep on building his career and reach for new heights. So far though he’s done just fine and continues to thrive.

6. He was in Lady Bird.

Coming of age movies are kind of interesting since so many of them have roughly the same plot but come at it from slightly different angles and perspectives that show us just how different we all are and how those experiences are something that make it possible to see that life isn’t about just one walk of life, but many.

5. He’ll have a part in the Murphy Brown revival that’s coming.

Yet another remake or reboot that’s going to be coming soon, it is one that people might be watching closely since Murphy Brown was the kind of show that a lot of people watched and just as many loved. So honestly it seems that the producers should follow the source material somewhat close.

4. He’s been in Shameless.

It’s hard to know who to feel sorry for in this story line since he truly cared about Fiona but she had such horrible habits that drove her into the arms of his coke-snorting brother. He didn’t try that hard to reconcile but in truth Fiona had kind of developed a really unhealthy addiction to bad boys at that point, thereby making sure that any decent and balanced relationship she might try to form would be doomed from the start.

3. The show Limitless is a continuation of the movie.

In fact Bradley Cooper is the guy that pushed for Jake to take on the role of the lead character for the show. That’s a huge endorsement from the guy that created the character in the first place and a top-level actor as well.

2. He had to learn how to drive a stick shift in American Sniper.

He admits that he had to learn how to drive a stick shift, which to many of us might seem odd because quite honestly a lot of people were and still are taught how to drive a stick shift. If you can drive manual then you can drive just about anything.

1. His given name is John.

Apparently his father would always quote the movie Chinatown, telling him “Forget it Jake, it’s Chinatown.” He doesn’t go by his given name, John, unless he absolutely has to for legal or identification purposes.

He’s been established for a while now but he’s still a person to keep your eye on.
