Not once, not twice, but now three times in the last two months, Fox News anchor Shepard Smith is standing up for free press and continuing his stance that CNN is not fake news. Once again, Smith known for being a highly conservative media influence and “prior” supporter of Donald Trump has gone on the offensive and is essentially calling out the President for his claims about CNN (and others) being “fake news” outlets. Shepard said,
“CNN’s reporting was not fake news,” continued Smith, seen in video below. “Its journalists follows the same standards to which other news organizations, including Fox News, adhere. Senior administration officials regularly speak without attribution so that the public can be informed of what our government is doing – off the record. Just as CNN reports [Trump’s Chief of Staff Reince] Priebus sent officials to speak off the record against the Russia/Trump campaign reporting.”
This was in response to the Trump Administration barring particular news outlets from sitting in on a White House Briefing. Other outlets were The New York Times who responded with their own set of advertisements.
Out of curiosity, how does Shepard Smith still have a job? Actually, how is this guy even still alive? While part of that is a joke, part of it is not. If you don’t think we’re potentially headed in that direction, Trump’s administration is just “easing” into this media censorship thing. If we don’t put a stop to this, guys like Smith will be dead, literally.
