I wish I could say I was happy for Sergio Garcia for winning the masters but ever since that video of him running like a little ninny to see if his ball landed on the green, I just can’t root for the guy. I think it’s also safe to say that millions and millions of people are kind of annoyed that he didn’t choke. The human being in me however, is happy for the guy. When you’ve spent 18 years trying to get to the point Garcia finally made it to, you gotta respect someone who never gave up. Still though, he just annoys me. I can’t help it.
That’s why I don’t want to spend too much time on Garcia. The real highlight of the masters? It’s far and away Gary Player watching the Masters. Why? Because Gary Player didn’t just watch the masters. Gary Player watched the masters while pumping iron. As Player said in his tweet “There are many ways to watch the Masters – rest is rust”
I really hope the hashtag “#restisrust starts trending today. As funny as this little clip and sentence is to make fun of, I can only hope I’m half as spry as the wonderfully exuberant Gary Player is at the age of 81. What a stud.
