Here Some New Updates on Fantastic Beasts 3

Fantastic Beasts

First and foremost a majority of the cast is returning for the upcoming Fantastic Beasts 3 as you might expect, since switching out characters at this point would be a massive mistake that Warner Bros. isn’t interested in making as you can imagine. But apart from that the scenery is going to be changing as well as we’ve seen this story take place in New York and even Paris, France. This time around however it would seem that, according to Ryan Scott of MovieWeb, that the story will be taking us to Brazil for yet another installment. Whether this will be the final one or not is kind of hard to tell since it would appear that J.K. Rowling might actually have enough ambition, if Warner Bros. is down, to create a five-part story that will keep people entranced just long enough to see the story possibly meld into a timeline that would at one point be left with the need to introduce a young Tom Riddle in some way. After all, the Wizarding Wars are a moment that fans would love to see, especially since it would connect the current timeline to that of the known Harry Potter stories.

There are a few things however that fans are no doubt wanting to see since they’ve been building up to this for a while now. The eventual showdown between Dumbledore and Grindelwald is a magical duel that many people want to witness just to see who is the most powerful, as it seems likely that Newt Scamander couldn’t possibly tackle Grindelwald on his own without being utterly destroyed. The issue of how powerful and vengeful Credence has become is another part of the story since whether or not he’s a true Dumbledore, or if Grindelwald is indeed pulling the wool over the eyes of a highly emotional young man, should be seen as the catalyst to yet another epic spell duel. The story has thus far introduced a very wide list of characters that have proven to be quite interesting and more than a little entertaining since Dan Fogler, the only muggle that seems to be given much consideration throughout the story, is a fine addition since he’s helped to push the story forward in his own way when it comes to his relationship with Queenie. Whether or not Queenie will come to her senses in the coming movie or not is hard to say since she seems to be a character that absolutely needs everything to make sense and fall into place lest her idea life and the expectations she has be shattered into a thousand pieces. The idea that she went with Grindelwald, thinking he was making sense with his smoothly oiled speech and impassioned words, is only further proof that she’s a far more sensitive and idealistic individual than her sister.

While the movies haven’t been nearly as popular as the original Harry Potter titles one can at least admit that the Fantastic Beasts movies have been a little more raw and rough around the edges and more inclined to show a realistic view of magic and how it interacts with the human world. There’s no abundance of butterbeer or friendly feelings in these movies as they’re exploring the down and dirty world of magic that exists beyond the Hogwarts experience, reminding people that magic isn’t a toy or a useful tool that can be utilized by students that are simply seeking an education. Magic in these movies is a very realistic and very serious matter that isn’t to be trifled with idly. Maybe that’s why some people aren’t thinking that the movies are as popular, since the Fantastic Beasts movies have taken on a much more adult lean to them. It’s strange to think that way since in the Harry Potter movies the trio of Ron, Harry, and Hermione were constantly in danger and were always wandering into one situation or another that could have left them broken and unable to carry on. In the original movies however there was always an out, a way that, no matter how inexplicable or cute, could help the three escape or outmaneuver those that were allied against them. In the Fantastic Beasts movies there are rarely any easy outs, which could be a commentary on society in some way if a person wishes to take it as such. Kim Taylor-Foster of Fandom has more to say on this matter.

Quite honestly the Fantastic Beasts movies have a slight edge on the Harry Potter movies since they’re in control of a narrative that is set to make the Potter movies possible, even if they have to follow certain guidelines to do so. In a way this story is telling of how the world that Harry Potter came to grow up in, dangerous as it can be, is far more controlled and capable of giving him the chance he needs to survive at the expense of the many that brought such change in the first place. That’s one way to look at it anyway.
