Great Moments in TV: The Beach Reunion Scene in Lost is Still Amazing

Little do many people know that the show Lost is one of the inspirations of this website.  It’s one of the reasons TVovermind even exists and if it weren’t for the previous owner’s amazing reviews and work on this show, we wouldn’t even be around today.  So I think it’s important to once in a while not only pay respects to the previous owner of this website, but also pay respects to one of the better shows we’ve ever seen on television.   This scene took place in season 2 and was the eighth episode of that season.

Survivors of 815 are reunited in this powerfully emotional end to episode ‘Collision’, of Lost. Not only is it one of the best reunion scenes in the show, it’s up there as one of my favorite episode closers with Lost soundtrack composer Michael Giacchino demonstrating his fluency at not only underscoring the emotionality but enhancing it through expert utilization of strings and piano. Notice the very ending has Jack and Ana Lucia, standing at opposite ends, representing the theme of black and white (through their attire) that is so dominant throughout the show.

What a great memory.
