Dragons Made From Newspapers

Dan Reeder proves that reading newspapers is nowhere near as spectacular as sculpting them. It’s no wonder people call him The Monster Man! “I made my first dragon when I was twenty-two years old,” Dan writes on his website. “I’m now sixty-seven.” Reeder created his first-ever monster along with his fifth-grade students. “I wanted my kids to do an art project that I knew would be successful. And I wanted it to be messy and take some effort. Paper mache monsters fit the bill perfectly.” He developed a unique variation of the craft, combining paper mache with cloth and glue, making Reeder’s project a lot stronger.
