Game of Thrones stars Iwan Rheon, Michael McElhatton, and Alfie Allen were guests last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and they previewed the upcoming sixth season of the HBO fantasy drama. However, the three actors didn’t just talk about what’s next on the series; they also debuted an exclusive clip from Game of Thrones Season 6, centering on Allen’s character, Theon Greyjoy, and Sophie Turner’s Sansa Stark.
In the clip, which you can watch below, Theon does his best to convince Sansa to head into the freezing cold river with him in an attempt to escape Ramsay Bolton and his hounds. Sansa says that she can’t do it, that the frigid water will kill her, but Theon knows that the hounds are a worse alternative.
“I’ve seen what his hounds do to a person,” Theon tells Sansa. “This way is better.”
Plus, in addition to that scene from the Game of Thrones Season 6 premiere, fans also get to see something in the video below that they’ll more than likely never actually see on the show: Theon and Ramsay hugging. That’s right, Kimmel got Alfie Allen and Iwan Rheon to give each other a hug just to reassure everyone who watches the show that what the two of them do is in fact acting; they actually do like each other in real life.
Game of Thrones Season 6 kicks off this Sunday, April 24, at 9 p.m. on HBO. For more information on what to expect from the upcoming season, check out HBO’s official description for the Season 6 premiere, “The Red Woman,” below:
Following the shocking developments at the conclusion of season five, including Jon Snow’s bloody fate at the hands of Castle Black mutineers, Daenerys’ near-demise at the fighting pits of Meereen, and Cersei’s public humiliation in the streets of King’s Landing, survivors from all parts of Westeros and Essos regroup to press forward, inexorably, towards their uncertain individual fates. Familiar faces will forge new alliances to bolster their strategic chances at survival, while new characters will emerge to challenge the balance of power in the east, west, north and south.
