Warning: This article contains major spoilers from this week’s episode of Game of Thrones, “Home.”
Game of Thrones fans never believed that Jon Snow would actually stay dead, and the HBO drama confirmed viewers’ suspicions when the Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch was magically revived by Melisandre in the closing moment’s of last night’s episode. Only after Tormund, Melissandre, and, lastly, Davos left the room, believing that Jon was still dead, did he awaken with Ghost by his side, causing fans everywhere to go nuts.
But what about all the lying from HBO and Jon Snow himself, Kit Harrington, that the character was actually dead and that Harrington was no longer a part of the show? Well, the 29-year-old actor has some words for Game of Thrones fans about the cover-up.
“Sorry!” Harrington told Entertainment Weekly in an exclusive interview. “I’d like to say sorry for lying to everyone. I’m glad that people were upset that he died. I think my biggest fear was that people were not going to care. Or it would just be, ‘Fine, Jon Snow’s dead.’ But it seems like people had a, similar to the Red Wedding episode, kind of grief about it. Which means something I’m doing – or the show is doing – is right.”
Now that Jon Snow is alive again, it will be interesting to see the direction that Game of Thrones Season 6 goes in during its remaining eight episodes. What role will a resurrected Jon play in future storylines, and how will other characters react to him now that he’s back from the dead? We’ll have to wait and see.
