Five Things You Didn’t Know about Vincent Herbert

Vincent Herbert has been in the news lately, and it’s not always been good. His marriage woes with Tamar Braxton have led to her filing for divorce, and the tabloids are filled with stories about his alleged abuse of her. All of their marital problems aside, Herbert has been a significant contributor to the entertainment industry. Though recent news has covered the two and documented their recovery and emergence to their version of post-separation equilibrium, both are moving forward with their careers. Herbert has proven to be a resourceful man, though seemingly shy when interviewed. Though he’s allowed Braxton to complete his sentences and contribute to his preferences, he’s accomplished much in his personal and professional life.

Herbert just signed with R & B ensemble Xscape to manage all their music endeavors.

He’s already worked with Lady Gaga and Tamar Braxton. The group sat down with Herbert, and knew that he “understands the music business” and they wanted his expertise. Herbert may be the perfect man to steer them in the direction they need to move. The new partnership is expected to move his reputation in a positive direction. Herbert is viewed as the person who moved Braxton toward success, and industry experts believe that he can do the same with Xscape, even though all the news about Herbert lately has been negative information about his break-up with Braxton.

Xscape’s newest releases “Dream Killa” and “Wifed Up” feature 3 of the members of the group; after Kandi excluded herself from the original group of four. Plenty of fans are already missing her voice on the lower harmony parts, but the song is already doing well.

The one song Herbert listens to on repeat is “All I Do” by Stevie Wonder.

He told the DoctorOz YouTube channel that it’s “his song”, even though he also listened to Tamar Braxton’s music all the time. Tamar mentioned that the son was a “real long rag”, but Herbert asserted that it was his song anyway. He glanced at her momentarily just then.

Herbert wrote and produced 9 hits for major talents in the 1990s.

At the time, he was often credited as simply V. H. He said that he doesn’t want to be the kind of man who’s quick to point the finger and doesn’t look at himself. One of them was for Aaliyah, “Choosey Lover”. Though Timbaland did the majority of the work for her album One in a Million, it was Herbert who produced the remake of this Isley Brother’s classic. Herbert also wrote and produced “No, No, No” for Destiny’s Child and contributed to producing “Too Little Too Late” for Jojo. Other songs which had the Herbert touch include Christopher Williams’ “Every Little Thing U Do”, Toni Braxton’s “How Many Ways”, and work with Monifah, Hi-Five, Deborah Cox, Mary J. Blige and K-Ci.

Herbert feels that Tamar was truly jealous of his weight loss.

Herbert had a health scare in 2012 when he was hospitalized with a pulmonary embolism. He spent approximately forty days in the hospital, and many speculate that this was his primary motivation to lose weight. The health scare began when he was in Atlanta with Tamar for one of her speaking engagements. He started feeling weak during the day, and he felt worse and worse as the day went on. He eventually suffered what was revealed as multiple blood clots.

He told Wendy Williams on her talk show that he lost about 90 pounds, and that he was gradually getting used his new body. He had been at least 300 pounds before his weight loss. Tamar said that he had turned into “the male Kim Kardashian”, and that he was always taking selfies of his new physique. Tamar said she hated that his weight was gone and that she was “the thick one now”.

He believes that he should be the kind of guy who understands that every day is not perfect.

He feels that every man can work hard to be better when things are not going well. He understands that each day gives him the opportunity to improve something that’s not quite right, and he intends to put in that work daily. He said that when things weren’t going well with him and Tamar, he was feeling very hurt. But, he wasn’t able to completely express his feelings. When Tamar moved into her own apartment, he saw the footage about it, felt completely disappointed, and very hurt. But, he also acknowledged that he spent a lot of time overcoming it. He said that his “gut is always right” and he’s very intuitive, and he encourages others who have similar feelings to listen to them and act upon them when necessary.
